During the meeting, the two ministers expressed their pleasure at the development of the Vietnam-Denmark Comprehensive Partnership in recent years, particularly in the areas of economics , trade, investment, green transition, and climate change response.
Both sides agreed to promote high-level delegation exchanges in the coming period, on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1971-2026).
Acting Minister Le Hoai Trung shared Vietnam's development priorities for the coming period, including transforming the growth model, prioritizing the development of science and technology, innovation, and energy transition.
In that spirit, the Acting Minister proposed that both sides should continue to promote cooperation in priority areas, especially green transformation and sustainable development.
The Acting Minister expressed his hope that Denmark would continue to support and lobby EU countries, as well as urge the European Commission (EC) to lift the IUU "yellow card" on Vietnamese seafood as soon as possible.
Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen congratulated Acting Minister Le Hoai Trung on his new position, affirming that Vietnam is one of Denmark's leading partners in Southeast Asia.
He expressed admiration for Vietnam's economic achievements and highly appreciated Vietnam's development policies.
Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen thanked Vietnam for facilitating the operation of the LEGO factory in Vietnam and affirmed that he would encourage Danish businesses to increase investment in Vietnam, especially in the field of green transformation.
He also highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community in Denmark to the socio-economic development of the country and their role as a bridge to promote cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation and mutual support in multilateral forums, and exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues of common interest.
