TPO - After 13 months since its commencement, package XL-08 of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project, passing through Hoc Mon district, has only reached 15% of its total output due to a shortage of sand, causing delays in progress. Since the beginning of September, after the sand arrived, the contractor has mobilized hundreds of engineers, workers, and machinery and equipment to accelerate progress.

The Ring Road 3 project, the section passing through Ho Chi Minh City, has a total length of 47km, including 10 main construction packages and four packages for operation and maintenance. Currently, the overall construction progress has reached nearly 20% of the contract value.

The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 passes through Thu Duc City, Cu Chi District, Hoc Mon District, and Binh Chanh District. The project has 14 construction packages, including 10 main construction packages and 4 auxiliary packages for operation and maintenance.

The photo shows package XL8 (Km 62+700 - Km 69+978) passing through Hoc Mon district, which has reached over 15% completion, with the majority of the output in the bridge section.

The project commenced on July 26, 2023, with an estimated construction time of 1,080 days. However, progress is being delayed due to difficulties in supplying sand for embankment.

According to the contractor's representative, the entire project requires approximately 1.4 million cubic meters of sand for embankment construction of the main road and its auxiliary routes, access roads, bypasses, etc.

At the Ring Road 3 project construction site in Hoc Mon district, from the investor, contractors, engineers, supervisory consultants to the laborers... everyone is working in shifts, three times a day, four times a week.

The construction sections that have received sand include: the section from Km 62+700 to Km 63+830 (approximately 30,000 m3), the section from Km 63+830 to Km 65+640 (approximately 11,000 m3), the section from Km 65+640 to Km 67+148 (approximately 43,000 m3), and the section from Km 67+148 to Km 68+160 (approximately 42,000 m3).

The contractor is accelerating the construction of bridges and tunnels along the route, speeding up the construction of the roadbed, and addressing weak soil conditions by excavating and replacing soil with timber piles, cement-reinforced soil piles, and installing drainage wicks.

Since the beginning of September, after the sand arrived, the contractor has mobilized hundreds of engineers, workers, and machinery and equipment to speed up the progress.

The TL9 overpass section through Hoc Mon has a total of 14 pillars and 2 abutments. Many pillars have had their main bodies and bases basically completed.

At Km 65+703, the N8 bridge is also basically completed. The Ring Road 3 in Ho Chi Minh City has a length of 47.51km, passing through Thu Duc City, Cu Chi District, Hoc Mon District and Binh Chanh District.
