The entire Agriculture and Environment sector together overcomes pollution

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will implement the Environmental Protection Action Program in the last months of 2025, with a long-term vision to improve environmental quality.

On the afternoon of November 5, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Le Cong Thanh held a meeting to discuss the Action Program for environmental protection, improving air, water and waste quality until the end of 2025. The program of practical activities is associated with propaganda to raise awareness and change behavior in the community, aiming for 100% of units under the Ministry and 20 key provinces and cities to organize activities for blue sky - clean rivers - clean environment.

According to the plan, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will establish an interdisciplinary working group consisting of the following units: Department of Environment, Department of Hydrometeorology, Department of Irrigation Construction Management, Ministry Office, Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, and the Ministry's Youth Union. The working group will implement, coordinate, monitor and urge implementation, ensuring that activities are carried out synchronously, effectively and have a widespread effect.

This action program is also considered a key short-term plan of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment until the end of 2025, aiming to concretize the Government 's orientation in responding to air, water and waste pollution.

Deputy Minister Le Cong Thanh affirmed: "Solving environmental, air and water pollution issues has been repeatedly emphasized by the General Secretary and Prime Minister as a serious challenge to the country's sustainable development."

The Deputy Minister acknowledged that the Ministry's Office has proactively advised and developed an action program. However, the Deputy Minister directed: "Environmental protection is not only the task of one unit, but the entire Agriculture and Environment sector must participate. The Action Program needs to establish a long-term roadmap."

Regarding communication work, Deputy Minister Thanh requested the Department of Environment to coordinate effectively with the Ministry Office and the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper to carry out practical and influential propaganda activities in society. He emphasized the need to commend and replicate local models and typical initiatives of communities, businesses, and socio-political organizations in the fields of recycling and management of household and production waste.

The Department of Environment has been assigned to research and report next week on the planned events. "Taking the environmental events actively accompanied by civil organizations and international partners in the past as a foundation, creating momentum to strengthen environmental protection activities in the coming time," the Deputy Minister directed.

One of the important highlights of the program will be information, propaganda and community education, technology application and digital communication. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will launch applications and hotlines to promptly receive and handle polluting behaviors; issue daily forecasts and warnings on air and water quality, and publicize AQI and water quality indexes on digital maps.
