According to statistics from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, there are currently 7,738 establishments raising specialty and unique animals throughout the province.
This includes 6,934 beekeeping establishments; 21 wild boar and black pig breeding establishments; 83 black-boned chicken breeding establishments; 155 wild duck and stream duck breeding establishments; 4 earthworm breeding establishments; 8 spotted deer breeding establishments; 67 pigeon breeding establishments; 21 silkworm breeding establishments; 3 horse breeding establishments; 417 goat breeding establishments; 19 rabbit breeding establishments; 2 ostrich breeding establishments; and 4 quail breeding establishments.
This is a direction that has been strongly encouraged in livestock farming in recent years due to its large potential market, ease of care, low incidence of disease, and high economic efficiency.
To further expand these models, especially to support poor households, in recent times, units under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development such as the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center; the Livestock and Veterinary Sub-Department have applied and integrated funding sources from the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction giai đoạn 2021-2025; the livelihood development program of the National Agricultural Extension Center, the New Rural Development Program... to support machinery, equipment; breeding stock; initial feed sources; and organized nearly 100 training courses on livestock farming techniques, care, and disease prevention... for thousands of households in need.
