Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuan, Head of Khanh Hoa Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, said that the training course aimed to provide guidance on production techniques, management measures and prevention of harmful organisms on crops. In particular, the Department focused on areas with high risk or frequent occurrence of dangerous pests such as stem borers, brown planthoppers, yellow dwarf disease - leaf curl disease on rice, fall armyworm on corn, grape anthracnose, apple fruit fly and cassava mosaic disease, while supporting and guiding farmers to restore their planting areas after floods.
According to Mr. Thuan, 10 training courses were organized for organizations, individuals and farmers producing key crops such as rice, corn, grapes, apples, sugarcane, cassava, coconut, asparagus, onions, garlic, durian, and grapefruit. The training content was divided into three main groups.

The content focused on disseminating the morphology, life cycle, causes, and symptoms of common pests, along with methods for predicting and forecasting pest situations to guide effective prevention.
Farmers are given detailed instructions on how to use plant protection drugs safely and effectively according to the "4 rights" principle: right drug, right dose - concentration, right time, right way. The Department also guides farmers to prioritize the use of biological drugs, herbs, and low-toxicity drugs, ensuring quarantine time as well as instructing people to collect packaging after use according to regulations and measures to treat soil and care for and restore crops after floods.
Two classes in the plant protection group on mountainous crops were held in Lam Son and Phuoc Ha for 52 students, focusing on characteristics and measures to prevent and control pests on rice, corn, green beans, sugarcane, and cassava.

Thereby helping farmers to prevent and control pests in a timely manner, prevent the spread of pests, overcome damage and gradually improve production efficiency, product quality as well as protect the agricultural ecological environment.
