On the afternoon of August 29, General Secretary and President To Lam, Head of the 14th Congress Personnel Subcommittee and Head of the Steering Committee for Strategic Personnel Planning, chaired the meetings of the Subcommittee and the Steering Committee. At the meetings, the Personnel Subcommittee and members of the Steering Committee discussed and gave opinions on the draft report summarizing the personnel work of the 13th Party Central Committee and the direction of personnel work of the 14th Party Central Committee.

The Personnel Subcommittee and members of the Steering Committee also gave their opinions on the Report on introducing the planning of the Politburo and Secretariat for the 14th term, 2026-2031; Report on the results of reviewing and assessing personnel to supplement the planning of the Party Central Committee for the 14th term, 2026-2031. Concluding the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that personnel work is the "key" of the "key" in party building. This work, according to the General Secretary and President, needs to be prepared carefully, thoroughly and methodically.
