According to records, up to now, the An Luong embankment has eroded nearly 1km, many locations have been deeply eroded, encroaching on residential areas. Statistics show that more than 300 households living in this area are directly affected.

Duy Nghia Commune has mobilized the maximum local force of about 1,000 people including militia, police, youth union members and local people, at the same time about 400 officers and soldiers of Division 315, Military Region 5 were quickly dispatched to the scene to coordinate with the locality. Since the night of October 29, the locality has focused all its efforts on urgent recovery.
Mr. Nguyen Van Truc (Thuan An village, Duy Nghia commune, Da Nang city) said, "For nearly a week, our people have mobilized each other and the forces to take turns using sandbags to save the embankment. Even though we know it's a waste of time, we still try our best to keep it as long as possible. Now we just hope that the rain will stop upstream so that less water will flow in, and the newly built embankment can be kept."

Faced with that situation, Duy Nghia commune authorities urgently evacuated people in dangerous areas to safety, especially households located close to the riverbank and areas at high risk of subsidence.
The forces were divided into many groups, working continuously in heavy rain conditions, to reinforce the embankments that had previously collapsed, and at the same time overcome newly arising landslides. Dozens of trucks from people inside and outside the commune were also mobilized, transporting thousands of cubic meters of sand from Tay Son Dong beach to support.

At the repair point, the atmosphere was very urgent, each sandbag and each rock were brought in to temporarily reinforce the weak points, creating a line to prevent the flood water from continuing to eat deeper into the shore. Not only the people and the armed forces, some international tourists staying in the area also participated in supporting the landslide prevention.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Secretary of the Duy Nghia Commune Party Committee (Da Nang City), said the landslide situation is very serious, directly affecting the lives and property of over 300 households along the An Luong embankment. We have mobilized all local forces along with the forces of Military Region 5 to support in reinforcing the landslide areas.
"The locality requests the Central Government as well as Da Nang City to pay attention and allocate resources to build embankments in this landslide area to protect people's lives and property," said the Party Secretary of Duy Nghia commune.

On the morning of November 3, Colonel Tran Huu Ich, Commander of the Da Nang City Military Command, inspected the landslide situation and requested subordinate units to closely coordinate with Division 315 (Military Region 5) and the locality to mobilize human resources, materials, and equipment to reinforce the eroded embankment sections. Thereby, determined not to let the An Luong embankment break, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
At the same time, direct the immediate establishment of a command post at the scene, assigning the Deputy Chief of Staff of the City Military Command to be in charge. Forces must maintain a duty regime, closely monitor the situation 24/7, and promptly handle any unusual developments.

Thanks to consensus, many landslide sites have been basically safe after being reinforced.
