The robot is located right in the hospital lobby, next to the reception desk, with the purpose of providing information and instructions, contributing to reducing the workload for medical staff and improving the medical examination and treatment experience. This is a new step for the hospital in the digital transformation roadmap.
On September 12, specialist doctor Tran Minh Hien, representative of the Digital Transformation Department, Gia Dinh People's Hospital, said that the robot is programmed to interact by voice, can give directions, lead patients to the right place, and provide information about services and prices. The robot is currently being tested on the ground floor during a 2-week pilot period. This robot is the latest generation, integrating many smart features. If the results are positive, the hospital will consider expanding and placing more robots on other floors to better serve the needs of the people.

The robot also has the ability to send out warning signals to ask for the right of way, automatically stop when encountering obstacles, and even know how to make jokes, bringing comfort to the patient. These details help the "robot staff" quickly win the sympathy of the patient.
"In the coming time, the hospital will not only apply robots in reception and guidance work but also expand to the field of internal logistics such as transporting medicine and equipment. This is the latest generation of robots and we expect the model to be replicated after 2 weeks of testing," Dr. Tran Minh Hien shared.
Patients excited about the robot guide experience
Mr. NMT (living in Gia Dinh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that this was the first time he had experienced this technology at a hospital. He found the support robot very convenient, giving specific directions, enthusiastic and also answering questions about the service. He wishes that each floor of the hospital would have a robot to make it more convenient for patients.

"As soon as I arrived at the lobby, I saw the new robot and was curious to try it. Its eyes on the screen were very cute. It also introduced itself as a smart robot. I tried to chat with it and was guided to the right clinic I needed. It felt very interesting. The hospital has modern tools like this, making me feel more secure when going for a check-up," said Ms. PTNN (residing in Binh Loi Trung ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
According to Dr. Hien, the appearance of robots marks a new step forward in the application of technology in medicine, contributing to improving service quality and building the image of a modern, patient-friendly hospital.
