Also attending the conference were Mr. Le Quoc Phong, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee. The Deputy Secretaries of the City Party Committee were: Mr. Vo Van Minh; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc; Mr. Dang Minh Thong and Ms. Van Thi Bach Tuyet.
This conference aims to discuss and provide feedback on several issues related to the socio -economic situation of Ho Chi Minh City in 2025 and key tasks and solutions for 2026; Party building, government building, and mass mobilization work in 2025 and key tasks and solutions for 2026.
In his opening remarks at the conference, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Tran Luu Quang stated that the second City Party Committee conference aimed to discuss and provide feedback on many important issues, especially to propose solutions and tasks for the year 2026. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary urged delegates to demonstrate a sense of responsibility, dedication, and intellect, focusing on discussing and contributing insightful opinions to the conference agenda.
In particular, the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term I, 2025-2030, must propose solutions and tasks for the next five years, focusing on implementing the goals set by the City Party Congress and agreed upon in the recent Congress resolution.
At its 10th session, the National Assembly recently passed Resolution 98, amending and supplementing existing regulations, opening up great opportunities for Ho Chi Minh City to develop more strongly in the coming period, with new specific mechanisms and policies.
The head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee assessed that in 2025, the city had achieved important initial results in operating the two-tiered local government model. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is facing two major groups of tasks, including: focusing on resolving the city's outstanding issues, most notably traffic congestion, flooding, air pollution, and achieving a drug-free city.
With its larger scale, Ho Chi Minh City must identify its crucial task: to continue maintaining its role as the economic locomotive, science and technology center, and innovation hub of the country. All objectives must be geared towards improving the quality of life for the city's residents.
According to the planned agenda, the 2nd Conference of the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, 1st term, 2025-2030, will conclude on the afternoon of December 15th.
