In his opening speech, Mr. Tran Bao Lam, Vice Chairman of Thu Dau Mot City People's Committee, said that since 2001, the Prime Minister has decided to make June 28th every year Vietnam Family Day. In recent years, Thu Dau Mot City leaders have paid great attention and have had many programs and plans to preserve family values and create all conditions for all sectors, all levels, each individual and the whole society to take care of building a prosperous and happy family.
Vietnamese Family Day is an occasion to honor the traditional humanistic values of the family, for all family members to show more concern for each other, share and appreciate, and at the same time is a day for Vietnamese people to turn to their roots, to their relatives, to their loving home, to nurture beautiful feelings, and noble cultural values of the nation.
According to Mr. Tran Bao Lam, every year the City People's Committee issues a plan to implement family work; based on this plan, localities and units in the city have also proactively developed plans to organize many practical activities associated with the movements "All people unite to build a cultural life"; "Building a prosperous, equal, progressive, happy and sustainable family"; "Exemplary grandparents, parents, filial children and grandchildren"...
According to the records, the Festival has many exciting cultural and artistic activities, honoring the cultural values of Vietnamese families. In particular, the cooking contest has the participation of families representing wards, departments, branches and organizations of Thu Dau Mot City.
It is known that recently, Thu Dau Mot City has organized activities of the Sustainable Family Club, to be able to exchange experiences ineducating children, promote the good traditional values of Vietnamese families; promote the role of families in preventing social evils and preventing domestic violence.
Up to now, Thu Dau Mot City has 52,615 households recognized as “Cultural Families”, reaching a rate of 99.27% and many typical examples in building happy families. These are positive factors, the driving force to promote the city’s increasingly sustainable socio -economic development.
Through today's festival, the Vice Chairman of Thu Dau Mot City People's Committee called on each citizen to organize family reunions, organize festivals to meet family members to review traditions and family customs, this is more necessary and meaningful than ever, thereby strengthening the affection of family members, gradually bringing "Family Day" into life, becoming a great festival, with noble humanistic meaning, well-preserved in every Vietnamese family.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot City awarded typical individuals and households in building cultural families in 2024, and awarded teams participating in competitions at the Festival.
