Attending the Congress were: Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and Chairperson of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang Province; representatives from the Party Building Committees, the Provincial Party Committee Office; and representatives from the departments, agencies, and mass organizations of An Giang Province.
The Congress was attended by 300 official delegates representing more than 721,100 members throughout the province.
According to the An Giang Provincial Women's Union, in recent times, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has made efforts to implement the Resolution of the Provincial Women's Congress for the period 2021-2025, achieving many important results. To date, 8 out of 8 targets of the Resolution have been completed, with many targets exceeding the set goals.
This demonstrates the efforts and determination of the Women's Union at all levels in fulfilling its political tasks. Many targets were exceeded, creating a significant impact, affirming the role and position of women and the Women's Union, and making practical contributions to the socio-economic development of the province.
The First Congress of the An Giang Provincial Women's Union, for the term 2025-2030, was held in the spirit of "Unity - Creativity - Innovation - Development". The theme of the Congress was: "An Giang women uphold traditions, innovate in integration, build a strong Women's Union organization, and contribute to the sustainable development of the province".
In her opening remarks at the Congress, the Chairwoman of the An Giang Provincial Women's Union, Truong Thanh Thuy, stated that in the past period, with the close attention and guidance of the Central Vietnam Women's Union, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, women's unions at all levels have promoted a spirit of solidarity, dynamism, and creativity; proactively innovating the content and methods of operation, leading the women's movement to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations.
Effectively implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union and the Resolution of the Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union for the period 2021-2025, making a significant contribution to the economic , cultural, and social development, the building of the political system, and ensuring national security and defense of the locality.
Ms. Truong Thanh Thuy, Chairwoman of the An Giang Provincial Women's Union for the 2021-2026 term, delivered the opening speech at the Congress.
According to the Chairwoman of the An Giang Provincial Women's Union, each Congress holds immense political significance, in the context of reorganizing the administrative apparatus, implementing a two-tiered local government model, and being directly under the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province, leaving a new mark on the development of the women's movement.
The First Congress of the An Giang Provincial Women's Union has the task of summarizing and objectively and comprehensively evaluating the women's movement and the activities of the Union; deciding on goals, targets, tasks, and solutions for the next term in a scientific, practical manner that meets the requirements of the new period. At the same time, it will contribute opinions to the draft documents of the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union and the revised and supplemented Charter of the Vietnam Women's Union.
The Congress will conduct a thorough review of the leadership and guidance of the Provincial Women's Union Executive Committee during the 2021-2025 period, thereby drawing lessons learned for the leadership and guidance of the first Executive Committee, term 2025-2030.
