
Along with the whole country, on the morning of September 5, teachers and students of Vinh Thanh High School (Vinh Thanh commune, Can Tho city) enthusiastically held the opening ceremony of the new school year 2025-2026.
Vinh Thanh is one of the localities far from the center of Can Tho city (more than 70km away). The commune was established on the basis of merging Vinh Thanh town, Thanh Loc commune and Thanh My commune (Photo: Trinh Nguyen).

Students of Vinh Thanh High School attended the opening ceremony of the new school year 2025-2026. This year, the school welcomed 421 10th grade students. The school has 35 students who received health insurance cards from Dan Tri newspaper (Photo: Trinh Nguyen).

Speaking at the ceremony, Journalist Pham Tuan Anh, Editor-in-Chief of Dan Tri newspaper, said that Dan Tri newspaper is the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Besides the field of information and communication, Dan Tri newspaper always identifies social security as an extremely important task.
Over the past 20 years, hundreds of Charity houses have been built by Dan Tri newspaper across the country. In the two years 2024-2025 alone, responding to the Government's program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Dan Tri newspaper set a goal of building 200 Charity houses for needy households across the country. With the support of Dan Tri readers, the newspaper exceeded that goal, building 218 Charity houses.
Dan Tri Newspaper has also built hundreds of classrooms, traffic bridges, floating houses, and residential roads, and called for help for nearly 6,000 families in especially difficult circumstances across the country, including the Mekong Delta (Photo: Trinh Nguyen).

With the program of giving health insurance cards to disadvantaged students, the 2025-2026 school year is the 4th year that Dan Tri newspaper has implemented it. According to journalist Pham Tuan Anh, every year, on the occasion of the opening of the school year, Dan Tri newspaper receives the trust of readers across the country to turn that kindness into health insurance cards to support an important part of students' lives and studies. Health insurance cards can help students feel secure when encountering unexpected health problems and have their expenses covered.
To date, Dan Tri newspaper has given away more than 5,000 health insurance cards to schools across the country. “Today, on the occasion of the new school year opening, Dan Tri newspaper gave away 500 health insurance cards worth more than 315 million VND to disadvantaged students in Can Tho. The value of each health insurance card is not large, but it is the heart of Dan Tri readers and philanthropists with the desire to share difficulties and reduce the burden on the families of students in the new school year,” Journalist Pham Tuan Anh shared (Photo: Trinh Nguyen).

This is the first time I have received a health insurance card from Dan Tri newspaper. I am very happy.
