
On December 2, in Hanoi, the award ceremony of the 3rd International Russian Language Olympiad for Vietnamese students took place, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Director of the AX Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language, and many students and teachers from schools with contestants participating in the contest.
The International Russian Language Olympiad for Vietnamese students is organized by the Pushkin Institute under the Department of International Cooperation in collaboration with the AX Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language (Russian Federation), with the support of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
The Russian Language Olympiad contributes to promoting the Russian language, increasing motivation to learn and encouraging studying abroad in the Russian Federation. The winners will have the opportunity to receive scholarships to participate in the “Summer Language Internship Course” in Moscow, the Russian Federation. The 2025 competition attracted more than 700 contestants from many provinces and cities across the country, demonstrating the growing appeal of the Russian language to the young generation of Vietnam.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, emphasized that the award ceremony not only honors the outstanding achievements of students and teachers, but is also a vivid demonstration of the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, a relationship that is sustainably nurtured on the foundation of profound educational cooperation.
Affirming that the experiences at the Olympics will become valuable assets, nurturing the love for the Russian language and opening up opportunities for research and study at leading educational institutions in the Russian Federation, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung said that the Department of International Cooperation is committed to accompanying schools and students in seeking and expanding training opportunities abroad.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Mogilevsky Konstantin Ilyich said that many former Vietnamese students who studied in the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation today hold high positions and are successful in their fields.
Affirming that Russian universities are ready to create conditions for Vietnamese students to become highly qualified experts in their chosen fields, Mr. Mogilevsky Konstantin Ilyich said that in May 2025, the two sides signed an agreement to establish the Pushkin Russian Language Center in Vietnam, and the Russian side will continue to strengthen the faculty, programs and educational activities at the center.

For his part, Mr. Nikita Vladimirovich Gusev, Director of the AX Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language, expressed his delight at the scale and quality of this year's competition. He said that within the framework of the 3rd Russian Language Olympiad final round, the Organizing Committee had organized seminars to share modern teaching methods with Vietnamese teachers, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning Russian.
Expressing her honor of being the first prize winner of the 3rd International Russian Olympiad for Vietnamese students, Phan Le Kim Chi, a first-year student at the University of Languages and International Studies - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, shared that her love for Russian came from her family and her achievements today are thanks to the support of the lecturers at the University of Languages and International Studies. The competition is an important turning point that helps her gain more confidence in pursuing her dream of becoming a Russian teacher, continuing to pass on her passion to the next generation.
