The contest is an annual activity organized by the Museum to celebrate the 137th birthday of President Ton Duc Thang (August 20, 1888 - August 20, 2025), thereby educating the young generation about patriotism.

After more than a month of launching, this year's contest has attracted the enthusiastic participation of more than 600 students from 43 schools and drawing classes in the city. This is the result of the coordination between Ton Duc Thang Museum, City Children's House and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.
A new feature of this year’s competition is the expansion and encouragement of children to use a variety of materials such as pigments, oil paints, acrylics, etc. instead of being limited to familiar materials. This change has helped improve the artistic quality of the works, while creating a richer and more attractive playground for children to show their talents.

At the ceremony, the organizing committee summarized and awarded prizes to the best works. In the end, there were 4 special prizes, 8 first prizes, 18 second prizes, 28 third prizes and 34 consolation prizes awarded to individuals and groups with quality entries.
Also on this occasion, the Ton Duc Thang Museum officially opened an exhibition displaying the winning works of the contest. The exhibition will run from now until August 31 at the museum. The public can also enjoy the works online via the website www.baotangtonducthang.vn. The contest is not only a useful summer activity but also an opportunity for children in the city to learn more about the life and career of President Ton Duc Thang, thereby contributing to fostering love for their homeland and country.
