On November 12, authorized by the Central Youth Union, Quang Binh Provincial Youth Union awarded the Brave Youth badge to a group of 5 students in the border commune of Thuong Trach (Bo Trach) for successfully rescuing 2 children being swept away by water in a stream.
On the afternoon of October 20, Dinh Phuong, Dinh Kheo, Dinh Duc, Dinh Ca Ngu, and Dinh Beo (all students at Bo Trach District Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities) were playing near Niu slope, Ca Roong II village, Thuong Trach commune when they heard cries for help from two children being swept away by the stream.
After that, Dinh Phuong quickly called her friends to run after her and quickly jumped into the stream to swim out to save the two children. However, the strong current made it impossible for Phuong to reach the two children in time.
The remaining four students quickly ran ahead, choosing a more favorable position to swim out to help rescue the person.
A group of 5 students skillfully coordinated to approach and rescue 2 children. The two rescued students were 1st and 2nd graders at Thuong Trach Primary School No. 1.
Mr. Dinh Trung Hieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, encouraged and acknowledged the actions of the team members in saving the drowning person and wished them to always be good, united, have a good spirit of living, and be ready to help people in difficulty.
Also on this occasion, the Youth Union of Quang Binh Lottery Company presented a gift worth 1 million VND to each child in the group participating in the above rescue.
