In recent days, the hillsides covered with vibrant yellow wildflowers in Hiep An commune, Duc Trong district ( Lam Dong province) have become an ideal spot for tourists and locals alike to take photos and check in. This is a familiar destination for visitors whenever the dry season arrives on the Lam Vien plateau.
This hillside of wildflowers is only about 10 km from the center of Da Lat city, so many tourists come here to take photos and admire the flowers when the weather warms up in the morning. This is also the time when the wildflowers are at their most beautiful and vibrant.
Wild sunflowers are a type of wild flower with remarkable resilience, thriving even in barren soil and harsh climates. Previously, people in Lam Dong province used to cut the stems of wild sunflowers to propagate and plant as hedges. However, due to the development of all aspects of life, people have had to clear the land for agricultural production. Currently, in Lam Dong, wild sunflowers only grow along roads in Don Duong, Lam Ha, and Di Linh districts, or on hillsides in Hiep An commune and R'chai mountain (Phu Hoi commune, Duc Trong district).

Wild sunflowers are a familiar flower to the local people. These are the flowers that ethnic minority children in Hiep An commune pick to play with together.
According to a K'ho ethnic minority resident in Hiep An commune, the blooming of wild sunflowers signals the dry season in the Central Highlands. Wild sunflowers typically bloom in October, lasting for about a month.
Mr. Viet Vinh (37 years old, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) said that he heard about the blooming wild sunflowers in the suburbs of Da Lat City, so he arranged his work schedule to come and take photos and admire the beauty of these wildflowers that are so resilient and vibrant.
The best time to photograph wild sunflowers is between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. At this time, the sunlight isn't harsh, and the petals are at their most beautiful and naturally blooming.
