Trieu Thu Thuy won the bronze medal at the 2025 Asian Youth Championship.
Good news came to the Vietnamese mixed martial arts team (MMA Vietnam) on the final day of competition of the 2025 Asian Youth MMA tournament in the capital city of Manama, Bahrain.
Trieu Thu Thuy won against Abbasnezhad Aylin of Iran. This result helped Thu Thuy bring home the only achievement for the delegation of 4 Vietnamese MMA athletes.
Previously, Trieu Thu Thuy had performed well in the qualifying round of the round robin format. She is the only remaining hope of Vietnamese MMA in the 2025 Asian Youth MMA Championship.
In the previous competition days, the remaining 3 male boxers could not create any surprises in the first time the whole delegation participated.
Vuong Tri Hai (modern 50kg), Lang Quoc Cuong (modern 55kg) and Nguyen Dinh Huy (modern 65kg) all stopped in the quarter-finals.
With Trieu Thu Thuy's bronze medal, the Vietnamese MMA delegation participating in the 2025 Asian Youth MMA Championship has just completed the initial target of winning a medal for the first time.
The 2025 Asian Junior MMA Championship is AMMA’s first continental tournament, recognized by the Olympic Committee of Asia (OCA). The Vietnamese delegation has 8 members, including 3 coaches and 4 athletes, led by Ms. Tong Thi Ngoc Hoa - Deputy General Secretary and Chief of Office of VMMAF.
