Vietnamese - German mark in clean energy transition
The "Fostering Green Science & Innovation" conference created a vibrant academic forum sharing the vision of committing to net zero emissions. The event was attended by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and Culture of the state of Hessen (Germany), the German Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, along with international partners and businesses.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Chairman of the Council of Vietnam-Germany University, spoke at the conference: " Over the past half century, the bilateral relationship has been continuously strengthened and developed strongly. Germany has become one of the major ODA donors, always accompanying Vietnam in important areas such as education, poverty reduction, green growth, environmental protection and climate change adaptation. Vietnam always strives to consolidate and strengthen the strategic partnership with the Federal Republic of Germany in all aspects ."

Inauguration of Green Hydrogen Center at Vietnam-Germany University
The highlight of the conference was the inauguration ceremony of the Green Hydrogen Hub, built under the public-private partnership (PPP) model between the German Development Cooperation Organization (GIZ), the German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK), the Vietnam-Germany University and a consortium of Vietnamese and international enterprises. This is a pioneering center in Vietnam in creating a forum connecting businesses, universities and policy makers. The center is located on campus and is expected to become an ecosystem in the field of green hydrogen, promoting the development of the clean energy value chain in Vietnam with three strategic focuses:
- Center of Excellence: Training and developing high-quality human resources in the field of hydrogen energy.
- Demonstration Hub: Showcase, test and disseminate advanced green hydrogen technologies.
- Business Cluster: Connecting businesses, research institutes and policymakers across the hydrogen value chain.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Timon Gremmels, Minister of Science and Research, Arts and Culture of the State of Hessen, emphasized: " Green hydrogen is one of the potential solutions for long-term energy storage and carbon neutrality. With abundant renewable energy resources from wind and solar, Vietnam has the opportunity to become a strategic partner in the global hydrogen economy , while Germany is a pioneer in technology ".
Vietnam-Germany University : Training green human resources for the future
Not only is it a knowledge intersection of clean energy initiatives, the Vietnamese-German University is also the core of the process of preparing human resources for the hydrogen economy and sustainable energy value chain.
In the 17 years since its establishment, the university has implemented German-quality training programs in key areas serving the green transformation from engineering, technology to economics, management and urban planning. The training programs are supported by the Consortium of 36 universities, including the prestigious TU9 technical university group, helping students to possess a solid academic foundation, ensuring teaching quality according to German standards right in Vietnam. In particular, from 20% to 80% of the subjects of each program are taught directly by professors from German partner schools according to the " Flying Faculty" model, combined with a system of modern, multifunctional laboratories and university campuses according to European standards.

Prof. René Thiele, Rector of Vietnam-Germany University, shared: "The establishment of Green Hydrogen Hub continues to open up many opportunities for students to study, research and develop careers in the field of green energy. At the same time, it affirms that Vietnam-Germany University is not only an educational institution, but also a strategic link in realizing the common commitments of the two countries in scientific cooperation and innovation development ".

The campus is designed according to international standards of Vietnam-Germany University.
According to the school's employment survey, 94% of students have jobs within one year of graduation, of which more than 90% work in their field of study. Notably, many VGU alumni are currently working and researching at international corporations and organizations such as Bosch, Siemens Energy, Messer, Ziehl-Abegg, Neuman, Indefol, affirming the quality of training that meets the global human resource needs.

The public university was established on the basis of cooperation between the Vietnamese Government and the German Government.
