On the morning of August 9, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry held a ceremony to announce the Decision to recognize the University Council and Chairman of the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry.

According to the Decision of the Minister of Education and Training , the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry for the 2025 - 2030 term has 21 members, of which Dr. Bui Ngoc Hung continues to hold the position of Chairman of the University Council.

In his congratulatory speech, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Tan Dung said that Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry is the oldest leading university in the field of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries in the Southern region and the whole country. The school is one of the leading flags in the Vietnamese university education system with 70 years of establishment and development.

According to Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry plays a very important role in training tens of thousands of highly qualified engineers, researchers, and managers, directly contributing to the modernization of agriculture and rural areas, and sustainable development of key national economic zones.

The school was chosen by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City as Chairman of the Council of Universities of Life Sciences and Environment with 12 member schools, to improve the quality of university education and develop high-quality human resources.

Leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training highly appreciated the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry's proactive integration of its activities into the development orientation of Ho Chi Minh City as well as other schools and institutes on the basis of promoting the potential of member universities, contributing to creating the overall strength of schools and sectors in the new period.

According to Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry has recently implemented strategic cooperation with many large enterprises such as ADM (USA), TTC AgriS, Tan Long Group..., which are strong steps, demonstrating the spirit of innovation, international integration, and at the same time affirming the trust of enterprises and partners with the school.

“This is not only an effective linkage model in training and research but also the core to promote the development of high-tech agriculture, build sustainable new rural areas and increase the value of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market,” said the Deputy Minister.

Dr. Bui Ngoc Hung, Chairman of the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, said that in the new term, the University Council will inherit the existing achievements and at the same time constantly innovate to meet the increasingly high demands of society, the process of promoting science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and international integration of higher education.

In recent years, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry has achieved many achievements in the field of science and technology with nearly 400 scientific research tasks at the ministerial and provincial levels, nearly 1,700 basic-level topics, along with thousands of prestigious international scientific publications, many inventions and useful solutions recognized and many practical research and technology transfer models widely applied in practice.
