Accordingly, in an open letter, Ms. Tran Thi Minh Nga - Principal of Hai Ba Trung Primary School (Son Tra District, Da Nang City) expressed that on the occasion of November 20 this year, due to the difficult economic situation after the Covid-19 pandemic, the school hopes that instead of giving flowers and gifts, it would "change" the form by giving health insurance cards for the school to give to disadvantaged students.

According to Ms. Nga, the school still has 50 disadvantaged students who cannot afford to buy health insurance because their families are not poor or near-poor. These are students whose parents are divorced and have to live with their grandparents or whose parents have to do manual labor jobs... Meanwhile, students from poor households have health insurance through local support.

Therefore, on the occasion of November 20th, with the consensus of the collective, the school board has issued an open letter to call for help for these students.

Immediately afterwards, this open letter was widely shared on social networks and received many compliments and positive responses.

Many parents' associations, upon reading Ms. Nga's open letter, also decided that instead of giving fresh flowers to each class and each teacher, they would give gratitude to the teachers of the whole school with a flower basket and health insurance cards.

It is known that the school has mobilized more than 20 health insurance cards for students. If the number of insurance cards is enough for this school year, the school board will use the support funds to give gifts to disadvantaged students during the upcoming Lunar New Year.

Ms. Nga shared that as a teacher, receiving flowers on Vietnamese Teachers' Day makes everyone happy. But to be able to "exchange" them into insurance cards for disadvantaged students would be much more meaningful and joyful.
