From the case of nearly 600 types of fake milk, former vice president: Whose responsibility is it?

On the morning of April 17, the Conference of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front gave opinions on the draft report synthesizing opinions and recommendations of voters and people sent to the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly .

Fake milk is advertised very loudly, deceiving people for 4 consecutive years.

One issue raised by many members of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is that people are very upset about the issue of fake milk since the recent bust of a network of nearly 600 types of fake milk and the production of fake medicine.

Speaking here, former Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan said that the case of breaking up a network of nearly 600 types of fake milk still raises the question of "whose responsibility is it?".

She said, for the past 5 terms, the National Assembly has been discussing the issue of "one meal managed by 5 people". Who is responsible for this fake milk issue?

"The Ministry of Industry and Trade yesterday said it is not under management. So whose responsibility is it? Who manages this milk? Who manages this food?", Ms. Doan asked.

She also requested clarification on the issue of street food management when there is "5,000 - 10,000 VND/stick of meat, dirty meat or clean meat, who manages it?".

"This is an emerging issue that needs to be clarified," said the former Vice President.

Professor Tran Ngoc Duong, Chairman of the Advisory Council on Democracy and Law, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, also recommended that it is necessary to strongly condemn and find drastic and effective solutions to resolve the "problem" related to the case of nearly 600 types of fake milk.

He cited the case of two enterprises Rance Pharma and Hacofood Group that had deceived people for 4 years, producing and consuming 573 brands of fake milk powder of all kinds for people with diabetes, kidney failure, premature babies, and pregnant women, with revenue of nearly 500 billion VND.

They advertise ingredients extracted from bird's nest, cordyceps, macadamia powder, walnut powder... but in reality the product does not contain these substances at all.

"The other people who are helping are famous people in showbiz, advertising very loudly, deceiving people for 4 consecutive years. This problem must be condemned, must be stopped. I request that the authorities detect it early and handle it," Professor Duong added.

Ms. Bui Thi Thanh, former Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Front, stated that people are currently very concerned, worried, and insecure about many issues, especially the sudden increase in gold prices, the situation of fake milk and fake medicine is very painful and affects people's health.

From the above situation, Ms. Thanh suggested that the Vietnam Fatherland Front should recommend to the Party and Government to strictly handle high-tech crimes and crimes of producing and trading in counterfeit and poor quality goods.

“After merging administrative units and rearranging the organizational apparatus, the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front need to continue researching and listening to opinions to detect shortcomings and make reasonable adjustments to help ensure people's rights,” Ms. Bui Thi Thanh suggested.

Nearly 600 types of fake milk powder sold on the market

Previously, the Ministry of Public Security had dismantled a ring producing, trading and consuming fake milk powder in extremely large quantities in Hanoi and other provinces.

Accordingly, for more than 4 years, this line has been openly operating, selling nearly 600 types of fake milk powder to the market, with a revenue of nearly 500 billion VND. It is dangerous and very dangerous when they produce milk for people with diabetes, kidney failure, premature babies, and pregnant women.

Initially, the police agency determined that from August 2021 to present, Rance Pharma International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Hacofood Group Nutrition Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company have produced 573 brands of various types of powdered milk.

There has been no accurate assessment of the harmful effects of these fake milks, but they certainly cause long-term health damage to consumers when the ingredients announced on the product such as: bird's nest extract, cordyceps, macadamia powder, walnut powder..., in reality the product does not contain these substances at all.

They have removed some of the raw materials and replaced them with some additives.

Responding to Tuoi Tre Online , the Ministry of Industry and Trade affirmed that the groups of fake powdered milk products are products produced by Rance Pharma Company and Hacofood Group Company and are not under the management of this ministry.

Meanwhile, sharing about its functions and tasks, the Ministry of Health said that currently most of the management has been decentralized to localities and assigned to localities for management. The Ministry has also "issued inspection and examination plans".
