Tuan Khanh is currently a Quantitative Finance student at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Over the past two years, this Gen Z student has not only overcome numerous challenges upon arriving in a new land but has also been repeatedly overwhelmed by the attractiveness and diversity of HKU's environment, from academic life to leisure, entertainment, and social connections.

Self-awareness, perseverance, and a proactive approach to exploring the world bring many benefits. To gain a deep and broad understanding of any subject, Khanh attentively listens to lectures and boldly participates in discussions, readily engaging in exchanges and expressing gratitude to his teachers. These seemingly small things have helped the Vietnamese student create a profound positive impression on everyone.

Tuan Khanh spoke at the Round Table - Coffee Chat event, organized by HKU to give students the opportunity to meet industry experts.
From his first year, Tuan Khanh joined clubs and participated in case-solving competitions – where students hone their analytical skills and problem-solving abilities in specific financial situations. Khanh was also a member of many projects. Joining the HKU International Case Society (HICS) – an international business case study organization at the University of Hong Kong – provided Khanh with opportunities to enrich his in-depth understanding of business analysis, strategy, finance, presentation, and research skills. Students selected for HICS must possess passion and outstanding qualities. Extracurricular activities were beneficial, not only in terms of knowledge but also in helping Khanh make new friends. Among them was Hayden, a close friend from Hong Kong who helped him conquer many challenging financial competitions.

HKU is a breeding ground for many influential leaders and experts in various fields such as finance, business, education , arts, and technology. Despite being aware of the fierce competition at a university that brings together outstanding individuals from all continents, Tuan Khanh doesn't let peer pressure weigh him down. "Choosing a comfortable, relaxed university life doesn't necessarily mean you'll develop your potential. Therefore, instead of stressing, I feel fortunate to be around many talented people and learn from their knowledge, lifestyle, and ability to share," Khanh affirmed. Recently, Tuan Khanh advanced to the next round of major finance competitions in Hong Kong: the Polymer Intervarsity ESG - Stock Pitch Competition and the HKU x Avenir Web3.0 Quantitative Finance Competition, a programming competition for stock trading.
According to Mr. Vu Hai Truong (University Admissions Office at HKU): Tuan Khanh is one of the vivid examples of the diligent and ambitious spirit of young Vietnamese people. They are proficient in foreign languages, easily integrate into multicultural life, know how to seize opportunities to assert their abilities, and achieve high results. These are factors that contribute to HKU prioritizing student recruitment from our country.
