Back to school one week earlier than the opening day

The Department ofEducation and Training has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue Decision No. 1491/QD-UBND dated August 11, 2023 on the time frame for the 2023-2024 school year for preschool education, general education and continuing education.

Accordingly, the whole province will start school one week earlier than the opening day. For grade 1, school will start two weeks earlier than the opening day. For special cases where school does not start on the prescribed date, the People's Committees of districts, cities, and affiliated units will report to the Department of Education and Training for synthesis and report to the Provincial People's Committee for direction. The whole province will start school on September 5, 2023.

According to the plan, the first semester will end before January 15, 2024; the second semester education plan will be completed before May 25, 2024 and the school year will end before May 31, 2024 (the Department of Education and Training will provide specific instructions for each level of education and in special cases). Consider recognizing and completing the primary school program, consider recognizing junior high school graduation before June 30, 2024. Complete enrollment for the first grade before July 31, 2024. Take high school graduation exams, complete graduation recognition and national exams according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training . The time of holidays, Tet and other holidays (mid-semester break, end-of-semester break, seasonal break, Tet holiday of ethnic minorities, traditional local festivals) is implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Law and guiding documents of competent management agencies.
