Back to school a week earlier than the opening day

The Department of Education and Training has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue Decision No. 1491/QD-UBND dated August 11, 2023 on the timetable framework for the 2023-2024 school year for preschool education, general education and continuing education.

Accordingly, the entire province will return to school one week earlier than the opening day. For first graders, school will return two weeks earlier than the opening day. For special cases where school does not return on the scheduled date, the People's Committees of districts, cities, and affiliated units will report to the Department of Education and Training for synthesis and report to the Provincial People's Committee for direction. The entire province will hold the opening day on September 5, 2023.

According to the plan, the first semester will end before January 15, 2024; the second semester education plan will be completed before May 25, 2024 and the school year will end before May 31, 2024 (the Department of Education and Training will provide specific instructions for each level of education and in special cases). Complete enrollment for the first grade classes before July 31, 2024. High school graduation exams, complete graduation recognition and national exams according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training . The time of holidays, Tet and other holidays (mid-semester break, end-of-semester break, seasonal break, Tet holiday of ethnic minorities, traditional local festival holidays) is implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Law and guiding documents of competent management agencies.
