Vietnam women's team gets acquainted with the ball dedicated to the 2023 Women's World Cup

On the afternoon of May 26, the Vietnamese women's team entered the 5th training session with the official match ball at the 2023 Women's World Cup. Before this training session, Vu Thi Hoa, a player, answered questions from the media.

After the 32nd SEA Games, Vu Thi Hoa shared that this tournament was the happiest thing. This was the first time the young striker of the Vietnamese team participated in the SEA Games and won a gold medal.

"When I entered the field at the 32nd SEA Games, I felt nervous and trembling. I remember most being on the field in the matches against Malaysia and Cambodia. I was very happy that the coach trusted me to enter the field to compete" - the female player who won the title of best young player of 2022 said.

Also according to Vu Thi Hoa, recently, coach Mai Duc Chung has given her many lessons to help her overcome her shortcomings.

After winning the 32nd SEA Games gold medal, the 20-year-old female athlete was not satisfied because she had not shown her full potential and still lacked physical strength, power and tactics.

At the last congress, Vu Thi Hoa did not have a chance to compete regularly in the journey to win gold. However, the 20-year-old player said that training with her sisters helped her and taught her many things to improve herself.

Regarding the Vietnamese women's team participating in the 2023 World Cup and facing strong teams, Vu Thi Hoa expressed: "I feel very happy. My teammates and I will learn a lot. The whole team will learn about the opponents to have the best performance in the matches."

Vu Thi Hoa also set a goal for herself to show her full potential and try to score in matches at the 2023 World Cup.

"In recent days, the whole team has changed a bit when practicing. I think the upcoming opponent will require a lot of physical strength, so the coach has given the team a lot of physical training and given the best tactics for the team to practice for the upcoming tournament" - Vu Thi Hoa said.

In today's training session, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team first came into contact with the official match ball at the 2023 Women's World Cup. To best prepare for the 2023 Women's World Cup, FIFA provided the Vietnamese women's team with 24 OCEAUNZ balls. This is a ball specifically designed for the tournament with features to increase accuracy, speed, stability and support fast-paced matches.

Before this training session, the Vietnamese women's team had a medical assessment according to the criteria issued by FIFA to ensure regulations before participating in the tournament.

During this training session, the Vietnamese women's team will train until June 5 before departing for training in Germany. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will also have two important matches against the German women's team, the Polish U23 team and a friendly match with two other women's teams in Germany.
