Put candidates' interests and opportunities first

Universities have proactively changed their admission methods, expanded their admission combinations, and increased the application of information technology, aiming to select the most qualified candidates.

According to the representative of Thai Nguyen University Branch in Ha Giang , the 2025 admissions will be implemented synchronously, ensuring fairness and transparency among admission methods. The school implements the principle of admission according to the priority level from high to low, based on criteria such as academic records, high school graduation exam scores, aptitude subjects (if any)... to select the most suitable candidates for each training major.

“We always put the interests and opportunities of candidates first. Ensuring fairness between methods helps candidates have more choices and higher chances of being admitted. At the same time, this also helps schools select candidates with capacity and suitable for training requirements,” the school representative emphasized.

From 2025, according to new regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , universities will no longer organize early admissions as in previous years. Instead, all admission methods will be implemented simultaneously in one round, after the results of the high school graduation exam are available. This is a new point to ensure absolute fairness for candidates.

Dr. Tran Xuan Quy - Director of the Admissions and Career Guidance Center, University of Science (Thai Nguyen University) said: "The Ministry of Education and Training requires schools to convert scores between admission methods (graduation exams, transcripts, capacity assessments, etc.) to the same scale to ensure equivalence and transparency".

With that orientation, the University of Science has made careful preparations early on. Notably, the school has proactively expanded the number of admission combinations for each major from the previous 4 combinations to 10-11 combinations. This is to create the most favorable conditions for candidates in choosing the combination that suits their abilities and career orientation.

“Expanding the combination helps increase admission opportunities, but also poses many challenges in virtual filtering and calculating quotas. However, with a team of highly qualified staff and strong application of information technology, the school has implemented admissions effectively and transparently,” Dr. Tran Xuan Quy shared.

Application of IT in admission

Facing the trend of digital transformation in higher education, many training institutions have proactively applied technology to the entire admission process. University of Science is one of the leading units in applying information technology and data in virtual admission and filtering.

Thanks to that, in the first round of the 2025 enrollment period, the school recorded more than 12,000 registrations - a number that shows candidates' interest and trust in the school's training quality and reputation.

Transparent admissions help improve the quality of admitted candidates.

Not only stopping at innovating methods, to improve input quality, the school has also increased the admission scores for many majors. This is a solution to screen candidates with good capacity, meeting the increasing demands of the labor market.

Dr. Dang Danh Hoang - Director of the Admissions and Communications Center, University of Industrial Technology (Thai Nguyen University) said: "Increasing the admission score not only ensures the quality of training but also helps the school define the target group of learners more clearly. Along with that, communication and career counseling work is promoted, helping candidates choose a career that suits their strengths, passions and social needs."

According to admission experts, changing admission methods and processes from 2025 not only comes from industry management requirements, but also from the practical needs of learners and the labor market.

In the context of Industry 4.0 and deep international integration, university education does not only stop at training professional knowledge but also needs to comprehensively develop personal capacity, soft skills, and innovative thinking. Therefore, admissions need to aim at selecting candidates with qualities suitable for each profession, not simply based on scores.

It can be seen that the innovations in enrollment in 2025 are a necessary step forward, creating a foundation for the sustainable development of the higher education system. Fairness, transparency and student-centeredness are the guiding principles in all enrollment and training activities.
