Cao Loc District People's Committee summarizes the work of building new rural areas in the first 6 months of the year

- On July 2, Cao Loc District People's Committee held a conference to review the national target program on new rural construction (NTM) in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the new rural construction program in Cao Loc district continued to receive close attention and direction from relevant levels and sectors. In addition to integrating and allocating resources, the District People's Committee directed relevant agencies and commune People's Committees to promote propaganda and mobilization work to mobilize people's efforts to jointly implement the criteria. Of which, 100% of communes organized and deployed new rural construction activities with nearly 18,000 participants. People in communes contributed over 130 million VND; agencies, units and enterprises in the district registered to support over 600 million VND for new rural construction...

To date, the district has 10 communes recognized as meeting NTM standards, of which 2 communes have met advanced NTM standards; on average, each commune has met 14.5 criteria. For Cao Lau commune, a model commune striving to meet NTM standards in 2024, it has so far achieved 8/19 criteria; Tan Lien commune, a model commune striving to achieve advanced NTM standards by 2024, has so far achieved 7/19 criteria. At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying a number of contents related to the results achieved in building new rural areas in Cao Loc district in the first 6 months of the year. At the same time, they pointed out the shortcomings and limitations in implementing the goals and tasks of building new rural areas, thereby proposing solutions to quickly overcome and accelerate the progress of implementing the goals and tasks of building new rural areas in 2024 in the district, focusing on striving to bring Cao Lau commune to meet new rural standards and Tan Lien commune to meet advanced new rural standards.

Speaking at the conference, the leader of Cao Loc District Party Committee requested that in the coming time, communes need to review and re-evaluate the NTM indicators and criteria according to the new set of criteria; pay attention to implementing the key tasks approved by the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee. For the pilot communes, it is necessary to complete the dossiers of the achieved criteria to submit for appraisal within the prescribed time, and for the criteria that have not been achieved, it is necessary to provide a roadmap and specific solutions for implementation; strengthen propaganda and mobilization work to mobilize people to participate in building NTM; and promote the role and responsibility of leaders in implementing the program.

The comrade noted that the District People's Committee directs the district's specialized departments and offices to closely coordinate with the People's Committees of the communes to accelerate the implementation of the criteria for new rural communes and advanced new rural communes, especially speeding up the progress of infrastructure construction projects in the two key communes. Thereby, we are determined to strive to complete the goals and tasks of building new rural areas in 2024 as set out.
