The National Assembly Office has announced the 42nd session of the National Assembly Standing Committee. The session is scheduled to last 2.5 days (February 5-7). National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will deliver the opening and closing remarks. At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider the following draft laws: the Law on Government Organization (amended); the Law on Local Government Organization (amended); the Law on Promulgation of Legal Normative Documents (amended); and the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on National Assembly Organization.

In addition, opinions were given on the National Assembly's resolutions regarding the organizational structure of the Government for the 15th National Assembly term; the structure and number of Government members for the 15th National Assembly term; the organizational structure of the National Assembly's specialized agencies; and the number of members of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly.

The National Assembly's resolution addresses issues arising from legal regulations related to the reorganization of the administrative apparatus.

The resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the specific tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the specialized agencies of the National Assembly will also be submitted for consideration.

In addition, the National Assembly Standing Committee considered and approved a number of resolutions to implement the Law on Organization of People's Courts in 2024.

Consider and adopt a resolution approving the proposal of the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy regarding the organizational structure of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

These are the draft laws and resolutions that will be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration at the 9th Extraordinary Session (expected to take place in February 2025) to serve the work of streamlining the organizational structure for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

In addition, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly gave its opinion on the explanation, acceptance, and revision of the draft Law on Teachers and the Law on Chemicals (amended); and the Ordinance on the Management and Protection of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Relic Site.
