After a week of strong gains due to the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, global gold prices are gradually leveling off. The precious metals market is showing signs of correction as investors begin to get used to the “new normal” and risk appetite improves.
Gold prices are still being affected by a number of geopolitical and economic factors, including tensions in the Middle East, the risk of a trade war due to new US tax policies, and a weakening global growth outlook. However, profit-taking has emerged as some investors assess that the rally may have reached its limit.
Wall Street analysts remain optimistic about gold prices this week as geopolitical tensions show no signs of abating, according to a recent Kitco News survey. However, retail investors are more cautious, fearing that gold will correct ahead of important interest rate policy decisions by the US Federal Reserve (Fed).
