On the morning of September 2nd (local time), at the Ho Chi Minh Monument on Bolívar Avenue in Caracas, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the Caracas city government, in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela, solemnly organized a ceremony to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Attending the event were Politburo member and Vice President for Foreign Affairs of the PSUV Party, Tania Díaz; Politburo member and Vice President for Mass Mobilization of the PSUV Party, Nahum Fernández; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Tatiana Pugh; representatives of the leaders of the political parties in the ruling coalition, central and local government agencies, and a large number of people from Caracas.

On behalf of the PSUV Party President and President Nicolas Maduro, Politburo member and Vice President for Foreign Affairs of the PSUV Party, Tania Díaz, extends warm congratulations to the Party, State, Government, and people of Vietnam on the occasion of this momentous anniversary.
PSUV Vice President for Foreign Affairs Tania Díaz affirmed that the great victory of the August Revolution – the embodiment of revolutionary heroism, the indomitable will of the Vietnamese people, the brilliant leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh – has been, is, and will forever be a beacon, guiding the struggles for independence of nations around the world.
Ms. Tania Díaz expressed her emotion, sharing that although she has not yet visited Vietnam, the country she loves and respects, through the images broadcast live by Southern Television (TELESUR) of the commemoration ceremony, she, as well as the people and progressive left-wing forces of Venezuela and the Latin American region, felt empowered and instilled with the unwavering belief in the ultimate victory of a strong, prosperous Vietnam, a symbol of independence, freedom, dignity, and resilience in moving forward.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member and Vice Chairman in charge of mass mobilization of the PSUV Party, Nahum Fernández, emphasized that he has always held deep affection and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh and the indomitable and courageous fighting spirit of Vietnam against colonialism and imperialism to gain independence.
The national liberation cause led by President Ho Chi Minh not only brought a well-deserved status to the Vietnamese nation, but also had immense significance for peace-loving nations around the world. It showed the people of colonial countries the path to rise up, break the chains of slavery, and win independence and freedom for their countries, thereby contributing to the abolition of colonialism.
Not only was President Ho Chi Minh an outstanding leader, but he was also a military strategist of genius, directly building and training the Vietnamese People's Army, a victorious army with glorious achievements that "shook the world," forcing powerful colonial and imperialist forces around the globe to submit. His ideology serves as a guiding principle for all of Vietnam's victories, especially the great achievements in the current reform process aimed at a prosperous people, a strong nation, and a just, democratic, and civilized society.

For his part, Ambassador Vu Trung My expressed his sincere gratitude for the affection and solidarity that the leaders of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), other political parties, progressive movements, and the people of Venezuela have always shown towards Vietnam.
Ambassador Vu Trung My highlighted the historical significance of the August Revolution and President Ho Chi Minh's Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945, which gave birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945, today the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; affirming that the wise and skillful leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh was the decisive factor in all the victories of the Vietnamese Revolution.

On the same day, as part of the activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela, in coordination with the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized a wreath-laying ceremony at the Panteón National Shrine to pay respects to the liberator and national hero of Venezuela, Simón Bolivar.
Attending the ceremony were Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil Pinto; Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania Tatiana Pugh, along with numerous ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions in Caracas, defense attachés and local friends.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, the Chairman of the PSUV Party, President Nicolas Maduro, delivered a speech, posted on social media, congratulating the Party, State, Government, and people of Vietnam; expressing special affection and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The message emphasized: “ From the homeland of the liberator, national hero Simón Bolívar and Commander Hugo Chávez, we express our admiration and deep affection for the children of “Uncle Ho,” a nation with a great heroic history. Vietnamese history is an invaluable school for revolutionaries fighting for freedom, peace, and justice. The friendship and brotherhood between Venezuela and Vietnam were formed during Vietnam’s struggle for independence. Both Vietnam and Venezuela begin with the letter V, meaning “victory.” With determination and steadfastness, Vietnam has achieved admirable development and growth, becoming a beacon of hope for the world thanks to its strong national unity, fighting spirit, and high discipline.”

On this occasion, Venezuelan newspapers and mass media extensively covered the message of the PSUV Party President, President Nicolas Maduro, as well as news reports, articles, and images about the 80th anniversary celebration of the August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day at Ba Dinh Square on September 2nd, and interviews with the Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela.

Notably, for the first time, the multinational television network TELESUR and the Central Television of Venezuela collaborated with Vietnam Television to broadcast live the entire celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, with commentary from renowned scholars and journalists from Venezuela and Latin America.
