2025 marks a significant turning point as the IAI Work Plan Phase IV (2021-2025) enters its final year of implementation, and ASEAN is actively preparing to develop the IAI Work Plan Phase V (2026-2030).
At the meeting, the IAI Task Force agreed to add four more projects from China, Japan, and Australia to the IAI program, bringing the total number of projects implemented in the Phase IV Work Plan to 99, representing 70.8% of the action lines across all five strategic areas.
In the coming period, the IAI Task Force agreed to continue to accelerate the search for funding partners for project proposals, especially in the remaining action lines in the Phase IV Work Plan, and to develop the next phase of the IAI Work Plan.

| The ASEAN Integration Initiative (IAI) was adopted by ASEAN countries in 2000 with the goal of narrowing the development gap among ASEAN nations and supporting new members (initially Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and in 2024 Timor Leste to become IAI beneficiaries) to fully integrate into the region. |
