On the morning of November 3, in Hanoi, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang received and worked with Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam and Irish Ambassador to Vietnam Deirdre Ní Fhallúin.
Receiving and working with Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam at the end of his term, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang congratulated Ambassador Jaya Ratnam on her successful term in Vietnam; hoping that the Ambassador in his new position will continue to support the Vietnam-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics emphasized that the two countries' upgrading of their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is a very important milestone and Singapore is currently the second largest investor in the world, the largest in ASEAN in Vietnam, and is also a pioneer in many fields such as economics , technology, and innovation.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang thanked the Ambassador for his active support in promoting cooperation between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Singaporean partners, such as the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.
Ambassador Jaya Ratnam expressed his honor to have worked in Vietnam for nearly 5 years, witnessing Vietnam's resilience in overcoming crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters, to rise strongly. The Ambassador was also impressed when talking about Vietnam, people mentioned development and peace. This was clearly demonstrated when Vietnam recently successfully organized the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention, showing that the international community is placing its trust in Vietnam.
During the meeting, Ambassador Jaya Ratnam proposed the implementation of a new bilateral cooperation platform, the Singapore-Vietnam Strategic Policy Dialogue, based on the agreement of the two countries' senior leaders. This mechanism is a platform for cooperation between the two parties, to discuss common challenges of the two countries.
Sharing and expressing support for the Ambassador's opinions and proposals, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang said that the two countries need to continue promoting cooperation activities within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, including continuing to strengthen training programs and exchange of officials.

At the reception for Irish Ambassador Deirdre Ní Fhallúin, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang shared about important milestones in the Vietnam-Ireland relationship since the two countries established diplomatic relations on April 5, 1996, and affirmed that Ireland is currently an important partner of Vietnam in the European Union (EU), especially in the fields of education and training, sustainable development and humanitarianism.
Ireland has effectively coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to carry out many cooperative activities, such as: The Irish Embassy in Vietnam coordinated to organize seminars on public administration, sustainable development and gender equality; the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics sent staff to participate in the IDEAS scholarship program (postgraduate scholarships in economics and engineering) and short-term training courses sponsored by the Irish Government...
At the meeting, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang and Ambassador Deirdre Ní Fhallúin exchanged and discussed solutions to soon realize the cooperation prospects between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Irish partners in the coming time, in which continuing to prioritize cooperation in training and fostering officials; building research programs on digital transformation, green technology and renewable energy; research on social security and welfare state models, contributing to improving the quality of training, developing high-quality human resources, promoting scientific research and innovation in Vietnam./.
