Vietnam - Uzbekistan still has a lot of potential to promote cooperation.

On October 27, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Chairman of the Legislative Institute (Lower House) of the National Assembly of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismoilov.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his thanks to Uzbekistan for attending the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention; affirming the long-standing attachment and traditional friendship between Vietnam and Uzbekistan.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to relations with traditional friends in the Commonwealth of Independent States, including Uzbekistan. The National Assembly Chairman informed about the situation in Vietnam , the achievements Vietnam has made in socio-economic development, improving people's lives, and enhancing its position in the international arena.

The two Presidents agreed that the Vietnamese and Uzbekistan National Assemblies still have much room and potential to promote cooperation; affirmed to continue to monitor, urge and support the Governments, ministries, branches and localities of the two countries to cooperate in areas where both sides have strengths and needs such as economy - trade, oil and gas, agriculture, culture, tourism, logistics, transportation...; and enhance the role of the Intergovernmental Committee mechanism on economic - trade and scientific - technological cooperation.

In addition, the two countries will promote close cooperation, strengthen the role of supervising the implementation of agreements reached and documents signed during the official visit to Uzbekistan by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man in April 2025; at the same time, promote the bridging role of friendship parliamentary groups and specialized committees in enhancing exchanges, understanding and connection, as well as exchanging professional information between National Assembly deputies of the two countries.

The two sides acknowledged the active and effective coordination between the two countries' parliaments in the international arena and agreed that the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National Assembly of Uzbekistan, including the House of Representatives of Uzbekistan, will promote cooperation at inter-parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), as well as increase delegations to attend multilateral parliamentary activities held in each country, contributing to deepening and making more effective the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Uzbekistan.

On the evening of October 27, in Hanoi, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended the 18th Vietnam Talent Awards Ceremony.

General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent congratulatory flower baskets.

Also attending were Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries: Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia.
