In the exhibition space of the Vietnam Women's Museum, each portrait seems to awaken a time of fire and flowers. The faces of girls in their twenties who sacrificed more than 50 years ago are now revived by reconstruction technology to continue telling the story of courage and the desire to live a beautiful life.

The collection includes portraits of the first Chairmen of the Vietnam Women's Union and more than 20 photos of female heroes and martyrs. Each photo tells a story about women who went through the war with courage, love for the Fatherland and the desire to dedicate their youth.
Ms. Tran Hong Dung, Vice President of the "Forever 20" Club, shared: During the resistance wars, millions of Vietnamese women stood up to fight, many of them fell at a very young age. That spirit is engraved in the eight golden words "Heroic-Indomitable-Loyal-Capable" that President Ho Chi Minh presented to Vietnamese women 60 years ago (1965-2025). To pay tribute to the women who have devoted and sacrificed for the Fatherland, a group of young artists from the "Soldier's Heart" Organization restored black and white photos into color portraits, bringing a new perspective on immortal beauty of Vietnamese women

In the exhibition space, the image of Vo Thi Sau, a daughter of Dat Do, appears with clear eyes and a calm face. She fought bravely and sacrificed herself at a very young age, becoming an immortal symbol of patriotism.
The original photo of Vo Thi Sau in prison was restored by a group of artists wearing a simple ao ba ba and a checkered scarf. “When completed, her face exuded a pure yet resilient look, both affectionate and solemn,” said writer Dang Vuong Hung, Chairman of the “Soldier’s Heart” organization.
Before the portrait of doctor-martyr Dang Thuy Tram, many young people were moved to silence. Nguyen Minh Anh, a student at Ly Thuong Kiet High School ( Hanoi ) said: "I have read Dang Thuy Tram's Diary many times. It is not only the writings of a doctor on the battlefield, but also an epic of humanity and the desire to live beautifully of the generation of young people during wartime."
The portrait of martyr Le Thi Hong Gam, a girl from Tien Giang, exudes a beauty that is both gentle and resilient. At sixteen years old, she joined the revolution, at eighteen years old she became the deputy commune team leader, she fought and encouraged people to stay on the land and fields. At nineteen years old, she was pursued by the enemy, she shot down a helicopter before sacrificing herself. That example became the pride of many generations, portrayed by musician Pham Tuyen in the song "The Birds of Hong Gam".
Portraits of female heroes and martyrs Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Hoang Ngan, Le Thi Rieng, and Mac Thi Buoi evoke tragic memories of battles in enemy territory and in prisons, inspiring today's generation with courage and love for the Fatherland.
“The exhibition is organized as a forum to honor, share and spread stories about the journey of bravery, intelligence and leadership roles of Vietnamese women through many periods,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Director of the Vietnam Women's Museum.

Whether they are scientists, businessmen, doctors or peacekeepers, they all have one thing in common: living beautifully, dedicating themselves and inspiring others.

In recent years, the Vietnam Women's Museum has promoted the digitization of heritage, storing tens of thousands of images, artifacts and stories about Vietnamese women on a technology platform. 360-degree tours, photo exhibitions restored with AI technology, 3D audio storytelling... When heritage is digitized, it is not only preserved but also spread.
The museum also cooperates with UNESCO, UN Women, Google Arts & Culture to bring images of Vietnamese women to the world. Portraits of female general Nguyen Thi Dinh, Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Thu, diplomat Nguyen Thi Binh... have become symbols of patriotism, strong will and desire for peace.
From the “forever twenty” portraits in museums to the faces of women in the digital age, there is an invisible thread connecting generations. It is the love of country, the will and determination to rise up strongly. During the war, they wrote an epic with blood and tears. Today, on new fronts, they continue to write the proud story of Vietnamese women with knowledge, creativity and compassion.
