Vietnam Airlines concluded 2024 with outstanding results in its production and business activities. Specifically, Vietnam Airlines' revenue and profit reached their highest levels ever. Revenue reached nearly VND 113,000 billion, a 33.4% increase compared to 2023, and profit exceeded VND 7,700 billion. Vietnam Airlines transported over 22 million passengers in 2024, an 8.1% increase compared to 2023; cargo volume reached 312.6 thousand tons, a 39% increase compared to 2023.
With its overall strategic direction, Vietnam Airlines has overcome major challenges from global economic fluctuations and the aviation market. Business efficiency has improved, and service quality continues to be a highlight of the national airline, with high customer satisfaction ratings in both domestic and international markets. The airline has received many prestigious awards, including being recognized as one of the top 10 most punctual airlines in Asia by Cirium (an aviation data analytics unit), along with honors for best premium economy class service from AirlineRatings (an organization specializing in evaluating aviation safety and service quality). In early 2025, Vietnam Airlines was recognized by AirlineRatings as one of the top 20 best airlines in the world (World's Best Airlines) and, for the second consecutive year, received the "World's Best Value Premium Economy" award. To achieve these accolades, Vietnam Airlines demonstrated consistency and superior quality in every detail, delivering customer satisfaction across its entire flight network, regardless of route length or class (economy or business). Vietnam Airlines was also the only Vietnamese airline ranked among the top 25 safest airlines in the world in 2025 by AirlineRatings.
For Vietnam Airlines in particular and the aviation industry in general, safety is always the number one priority. The airline was the first in Vietnam to be awarded the IOSA operational safety certification by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and has continuously maintained this certification since 2006. In 2025, Vietnam Airlines Corporation will celebrate its 30th anniversary, a significant milestone in the corporation's journey of development. This year, Vietnam Airlines expects to transport 25.4 million passengers and 336,300 tons of cargo, aiming for revenue of VND 95,600 billion and pre-tax profit of VND 2,176 billion. To achieve this goal, the corporation will focus on increasing the operational efficiency of its fleet, improving labor productivity, and accelerating digital transformation in its operations, prioritizing the expansion of international markets and enhancing customer service quality.
The corporation will vigorously implement corporate restructuring tasks to optimize operational efficiency, while building a strong corporate culture that prioritizes safety and sustainable development... Opportunities arise from the strong recovery of the global tourism industry and international investment promotion activities. After the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, international travel demand has increased again, creating favorable conditions for Vietnam Airlines to expand its international flight network and restore disrupted routes.
Emphasizing that 2025 is a decisive year for achieving the targets of the 2020-2025 term and a year that lays the groundwork for the plans and goals of the 2025-2030 term, Mr. Dang Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Airlines, stated that Vietnam Airlines' motto for action in 2025 is: breakthrough thinking - strong action - soaring to greater heights. With this motto, each unit and individual employee of Vietnam Airlines needs to make breakthrough strides in thinking, boldly innovate in their methods, and be more decisive in their actions.

Regarding future direction, Mr. Le Hong Ha, General Director of Vietnam Airlines, shared that sustainable development is the focus of Vietnam Airlines' long-term strategy. The airline focuses on investing in a modern fleet, aiming to own 169 aircraft by 2035, including 52 wide-body aircraft serving long-haul routes to Europe, the US, and India. The corporation also strengthens the use of environmentally friendly products, reduces emissions, and meets international environmental protection standards. As a leading force in the aviation industry, in 2025, Vietnam Airlines will open and resume operations on many new routes to contribute to the country's progress. Internationally alone, there will be 14 additional routes to China, Japan, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Russia, Italy, and more.
