Vinh Long organizes sampan racing, flyboard and windsurfing performances

On the morning of December 23, at the embankment of Ward 9 Park, Vinh Long City, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long Province held the opening ceremony of the sampan racing championship, flyboard performance and windsurfing game.

This is one of the opening activities for the 3rd Vinh Long Provincial Tourism Festival in 2023.

The Tam Ban boat racing championship has more than 100 athletes from 16 boat teams from 8 districts, towns and cities in the province. The teams compete in 3 categories: Men's team, Women's team, Mixed team.

The swimming lane is 200 meters long along the embankment of Co Chien River, Ward 9, Vinh Long City. The Organizing Committee will award prizes to the teams with high rankings in each competition of the tournament.

Along with the sampan racing, the audience also enjoyed flyboard and windsurfing performances with beautiful twists and turns. Nearly 30 athletes from Dai Nam Binh Duong Company and Ho Chi Minh City participated in the performance.

The sampan racing activity on the Co Chien River aims to recreate and preserve the traditional cultural beauty of sampans in the ancient land of Long Ho Dinh in particular and the Mekong Delta in general. It reminds visitors to understand more about the use of sampans in the cultural life of our ancestors during the struggle to open up new territories and build our country.

Thereby, contributing to preserving the traditional cultural beauty for the young generation in the process of building a civilized and modern Vinh Long city.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province, the 3rd Vinh Long Tourism Festival in 2023 will take place from December 23 to 25 with the main activities: Hot air balloon performance at the opening ceremony; Display, promotion, introduction of tourism, craft village products, typical products; organize flyboard performances combined with canoe surfing, sampan racing.

Along with that, organize a culinary competition and display, promote Binh Tan sweet potatoes; water music art program and fashion show; festival of music groups, dance groups and dance groups of Vinh Long province...

In particular, there is a contest of delicious dishes made from sweet potatoes and setting a Vietnamese record of 100 dishes made from sweet potatoes.
