On the morning of May 27, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority, said that in the immediate future, Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority will ask the ship owner to mark the location where the Cong Thanh 07 ship sank and drop warning buoys in the area of the incident. At the same time, the unit will issue a maritime notice of the dangerous area to warn passing ships.
Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority also requested the ship owner to develop a plan to salvage the ship, submit it to the unit for approval and supervise the ship salvage plans to ensure safety.

Currently, the most important issue after the sinking of the Cong Thanh 07 ship is the prevention and response to the risk of oil spills at sea. The Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority has issued a document requesting the ship owner to collect all the oil on board.
At the same time, report to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Ha Tinh province to have solutions to direct oil spill prevention and response work.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh said that before the Cong Thanh 07 ship sank, it was initially estimated that the tank on the ship contained about 30 tons of DO oil, in addition to about 100-200 liters of lubricating oil... The location of the sunken ship was in the sea of Ky Loi commune (Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province), at a depth of about 25-30m, about 6-7 nautical miles from Vung Ang - Son Duong port, Ky Anh town.
As reported by SGGP Newspaper, at 8:40 p.m. on May 25, Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority received information from the ship Cong Thanh 07 (registration number TB-2668), with a gross tonnage of 5,162.5 tons, carrying more than 4,932 tons of coal, on its way from Quang Ninh to Quang Binh, when it encountered an accident in the waters of Ky Loi commune. There were 11 crew members on board, from Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, and Binh Phuoc provinces.
The ship tilted, water flooded into the hold and then sank. Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority promptly instructed on safety measures and activated rescue operations. However, by 9:30 p.m., the unit could no longer contact the captain.

Through the vessel monitoring system (VTS) and feedback from vehicles in the area, it was determined that the crew had abandoned the vessel before it sank.
Immediately after that, the authorities urgently deployed rescue vehicles. By 1:30 p.m. on May 26, all 11 crew members in distress were safely rescued and brought to Vung Ang port.
