• ENHANCE YOUR REPUTATION WITH CERTIFICATION MARK
On May 15, 2020, the Intellectual Property Office issued a decision granting registration certificates for the certification trademarks "Da Lat Strawberry" and "Da Lat Persimmon". In the current context where goods of questionable quality and origin are being exploited and counterfeited by some individuals in the market, the creation and exclusive protection of the "Da Lat Strawberry" and "Da Lat Persimmon" certification trademarks nationwide has created favorable conditions for the development of these unique local agricultural products.
However, for these brands to thrive in the market and become strong national brands, the role of the units, organizations, and individuals who are the direct users and beneficiaries of the brands is extremely important and they need to ensure quality and enhance the reputation of the recognized and protected brands.
According to information from the Da Lat City People's Committee, the city currently has approximately 170 hectares of strawberry cultivation, of which 150 hectares apply high-tech solutions such as: using new varieties, cultivation in greenhouses, and irrigation and fertilization through drip irrigation systems. The application of high technology in strawberry cultivation has yielded good results, with the average value of harvested high-tech strawberries reaching 3-4 billion VND/hectare/year.
• "Da Lat Strawberry Street"
In recent years, Da Lat has developed an area known by locals and tourists as the "Da Lat Strawberry Street" on Nguyen Cong Tru Street (Ward 2). This is not only a place for tourists to enjoy and buy strawberry products, but also an attractive destination, deeply rooted in Da Lat's unique culture. Initially, only 12 households on Nguyen Cong Tru Street were involved in strawberry production and business. Over the years, residents in the surrounding area recognized the model's high economic efficiency and stable income, leading to its spread. Today, there are more than 30 households selling strawberries on this street.
Mr. Doan Ba Huan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ward 2, said: "From the very beginning, the authorities invited strawberry vendors to work with them, agreeing on methods and proposing appropriate solutions to best serve tourists. This was supported by the vendors and has been maintained stably for many years. State management is regularly maintained, from stabilizing the decoration and arrangement of strawberries to standardizing signage, hygiene, and urban order when visitors come to visit and buy strawberries... At the same time, the local authorities have printed the phone numbers of the street group leaders and responsible leaders to receive feedback from the people... Through this, they can promptly prevent unhealthy business activities."
• PRESERVING THE BRAND OF DA LAT STRAWBERRIES
After establishing the "Da Lat Strawberry" brand, protecting and maintaining its reputation is crucial. One of the most important factors in preserving the brand is ensuring consistent and high-quality product standards. Maintaining a rigorous quality control process from harvest to consumer is essential. These processes need to be closely monitored to ensure that Da Lat strawberries are not counterfeited or of questionable quality.
In particular, ensuring consumer rights is one of the key factors in the sustainable development of the Da Lat strawberry brand. Consumers are not only concerned about product quality but also demand other rights such as food safety and a convenient shopping experience.
In addition, small details in consumer protection policies, such as product returns for defects and the protection of fair and transparent pricing, are crucial. Ms. Le Thi Bich Phuong (a strawberry grower in Da Lat, applying a high-tech agricultural model in greenhouses) in Ward 6, Da Lat, said: "We Da Lat residents cherish our city and its distinctive products. Preserving the 'Da Lat Strawberry' brand is an opportunity for us strawberry growers and businesses to fulfill our responsibilities. We are very grateful to the local government and relevant agencies for their attention to protecting this brand, helping consumers avoid confusion and distinguish it from Chinese products that are being mixed in and disguised as Da Lat strawberries."
Mr. Pham Thanh Vien, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ward 2, Da Lat City, shared: Implementing the task of economic development, focusing on tourism , services, and trade according to Resolution 06 of the Da Lat City Party Committee; tourism and services continue to receive focused investment and development. The locality emphasizes propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage businesses to build a healthy business environment, creating favorable conditions for the development of service and trade sectors; in particular, promoting the effectiveness of the Nguyen Cong Tru strawberry street model.
According to the Party Secretary of Ward 2, with the desire to stabilize the lives of the people, utilize the local strengths, and develop trade and tourism from the traditional strawberry farming profession, the "strawberry street" also aims to protect the strawberry variety bearing the Da Lat brand, helping people stay connected to the long-standing traditional strawberry farming profession; on the other hand, it also aims to preserve and develop the area of strawberry cultivation.
With stable operations over the past period, strawberry growers and processors hope to develop Nguyen Cong Tru Street into a reliable destination for tourists to visit and purchase local specialties and souvenirs when traveling to the mountain town of Da Lat.
