On October 3, comrades: Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired the Conference to review 3 years of implementing Conclusion No. 94-KL/TU dated January 23, 2021 of the Son La Provincial Party Executive Committee on tourism development in Son La province to 2025, with a vision to 2030.
Attending the conference were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee; leaders of departments, branches, districts, cities; and the Provincial Tourism Association.
Under the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, Party committees and authorities at all levels have resolutely implemented the task of tourism development. After more than 3 years of implementing Conclusion No. 94-KL/TU, Son La province's tourism has achieved positive and important results, promoting tourism development.
Many plans have been established and implemented in accordance with the socio -economic development plan of the province, such as: Son La province planning for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050, general planning and zoning plans, detailed planning of Moc Chau National Tourist Area; inter-district planning along National Highway 6; planning along the Da River reservoir; zoning planning of the Moc Chau District's typical agricultural ecosystem conservation area; general planning for the construction of Ta Xua Tourist Area and surrounding areas; zoning planning for the construction of Pha Din Pass Tourist Area...
Tourism infrastructure is invested in a synchronous manner, with over VND 1,149 billion allocated for 14 projects in the 2021-2025 period . From 2021 to July 2024, the whole province attracted 13 investment projects in the fields of tourism, services, trade, and agriculture with a registered capital of VND 14,515 billion. Many large-scale, modern tourism projects and tourist areas according to international standards were formed and put into operation. The results of tourism development in Son La province were completed and reached the target 1 year ahead of schedule for the 2 major goals identified in the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025: Moc Chau National Tourist Area was officially recognized according to the provisions of the Law on Tourism and was voted by the World Travel Awards as "Asia's Leading Regional Natural Destination" for 3 consecutive years and "World's Leading Regional Natural Destination" for 2 consecutive years.
The Son La hydropower reservoir area is included in the national tourism system planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045. There are 12 recognized tourist areas and tourist spots, including: 1 national tourist area, 1 provincial tourist area and 10 provincial tourist spots. Tourists reached more than 12 million, revenue from tourism activities reached 12,600 billion VND; growing rapidly and stably at 13%/year, contributing about 6% of GRDP. The position of the tourism industry in the socio-economic development of the province is increasingly enhanced; gradually building Son La province into a tourist center of the Northwest region.
Concluding the conference, comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh requested the Party delegations, Party executive committees, district Party committees, city Party committees, and affiliated Party committees to continue to thoroughly grasp and implement Conclusion No. 94-KL/TU dated January 23, 2021 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee on tourism development in Son La province to 2025, with a vision to 2030. Develop tasks and solutions for tourism development in a focused and key direction with the motto "Unique products - Professional services - Convenient and simple procedures - Competitive prices - Clean and beautiful environment - Safe, civilized and friendly destinations" .
Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of tourism; promote administrative reform, improve the investment environment, enhance competitiveness; promote cultural and agricultural advantages to develop diverse, unique and attractive tourism products. Implement well the planning and planning management; establish a master plan for the construction of Son La Lake National Tourist Area according to Decision 509/QD-TTg dated June 13, 2024 of the Prime Minister approving the tourism system planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045.
Invest in the construction of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway; prioritize resources for infrastructure investment to develop the Moc Chau National Tourist Area and the Son La hydroelectric reservoir area; prioritize the allocation of resources to effectively implement policies to support tourism development; improve the quality of tourism human resources; promote activities to promote, advertise, build the brand and image of Son La tourism; develop domestic and international tourism markets; issue policies and mechanisms to promote tourism development... making tourism a key economic sector of the province by 2030.
