Container truck entered a restricted road, hit a police car and fled.

Thanh Hoa: When discovered by traffic police entering a prohibited road, container truck driver Nguyen Van Thanh did not obey the order to stop the vehicle, but deliberately swerved to escape.

At around 10:00 a.m. on March 11, Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 4, Traffic Police Department discovered a container truck with Hai Phong license plate driven by Nguyen Van Thanh, 30 years old, from Thuy Ninh commune, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh, entering Nghi Son - Dien Chau highway.

Because this highway currently prohibits trucks over 10 tons from traveling, the police chased and asked the vehicle to stop for inspection. However, the driver did not comply and deliberately accelerated to escape.

While traveling from North to South, Thanh continuously swerved and crashed into the back of the police car in front in an attempt to escape. When arriving at Nghi Son town, the container truck was stopped and Thanh was restrained by the interdisciplinary police team.

The male driver is currently being detained by Nghi Son Town Police to investigate his behavior of resisting a person performing official duties. Police tested driver Thanh for alcohol and drugs but found no violations.

According to authorities, the police car had damage to the right rear end, and the container truck had minor damage to the front.

The North-South Expressway, National Highway 45 - Nghi Son, is 43 km long, passing through Nong Cong district and Nghi Son town, Thanh Hoa province, with a total investment of more than 5,500 billion VND. Put into operation from September 2023, this expressway currently only allows cars, passenger cars, and trucks of 10 tons or less to circulate.
