On the evening of October 1st, a video recorded in a classroom appeared on social media with the title: "The teacher is behaving in an un-teacher manner again."
In the clip, which is over 20 seconds long, the teacher stands on the podium, pointing his finger at a student's face, grabbing their chin, and berating them harshly, using disrespectful language, and culminating in the line: "Do you understand, you dog? Go home."
The teacher used informal and disrespectful language, even calling students "dogs."
The uploaded clip is believed to have been filmed at Phan Huy Chu High School in Thach That ( Hanoi ), one of the private high schools in Hanoi.
In the comments under the video, some students claimed to have studied at this school and were "lucky not to have had to study with this teacher before," or "this teacher has been involved in drama for a long time"...
This morning, October 2nd, representatives from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training stated that they have investigated and confirmed the incident that occurred at Phan Huy Chu High School in Thach That. Immediately after the video appeared on social media on the evening of October 1st, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training instructed the school to urgently cooperate with the police to verify the incident.
Initial information reported by the school to the Department of Education and Training indicates that the incident occurred during a 10th-grade English class. Teacher T. (the teacher in the video) is experienced but quite hot-tempered, despite having been warned several times by the school principal.
The clip emerged at a time when public outrage had not yet subsided over a video showing a teacher grabbing a female student by the collar and dragging her from the hallway into the classroom at Da Phuc High School (Soc Son District, Hanoi).
Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, affirmed that the department has issued directives regarding these incidents. The department's guiding principle is to resolutely and strictly handle violations, absolutely not covering up any unprofessional or unethical behavior by teachers.
