The Ministry of Education and Training has issued a document requesting Hue University to re-evaluate the content of the doctoral dissertation of Ms. Le Thi An Hoa, which was found to contain plagiarism.

On December 14th, a representative from the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) announced that they had issued a response regarding the handling of the case of the doctoral dissertation of Ms. Le Thi An Hoa - Head of the Scientific Research Department (Hue Ancient Citadel Conservation Center) - which was found to contain plagiarism.
The official document was signed and issued by Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Head of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training).
Accordingly, after receiving a letter from Hue University regarding the handling of the complaint alleging plagiarism in Ms. Hoa's doctoral dissertation, the Ministry of Education and Training reviewed the matter and provided its opinion.
The Ministry of Education and Training has requested Hue University to re-evaluate this doctoral dissertation, and based on the results, determine the appropriate disciplinary action against Ms. Hoa.
In the event that the dissertation no longer meets the requirements of a doctoral dissertation, Hue University needs to consider the responsibility of the committee that approved the aforementioned doctoral dissertation.
Hue University needs to submit a report to the Ministry of Education and Training before January 31, 2025.
Previously, Hue University received a complaint alleging plagiarism and misuse of historical sources in the doctoral dissertation "The Formation, Development, and Transformation of Royal Court Festivals in Hue from 1802 to 1945" by Ms. Le Thi An Hoa.
After receiving the application, Hue University verified the information and concluded that plagiarism had occurred in this thesis.
