According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, exports of rattan, bamboo, sedge and carpet products in November 2023 earned more than 65.3 million USD, up 13.8% over the previous month.
In the first 11 months of the year, this group of goods brought Vietnam more than 661.8 million USD, down 11.9% compared to the same period in 2022. The decrease compared to 2022 is gradually narrowing each month, showing an improvement in exports.

In terms of market, the US is still Vietnam's largest export market. In November, exports of rattan, bamboo, sedge and carpets to the US earned more than 22.5 million USD, up 5.4% over the previous month and 30.3% over November 2022. In the 11 months, exports to the US reached nearly 248 million USD, down 16.5% over the same period in 2022, accounting for 37.43%.
Ranked second is the Japanese market. In November, this country imported nearly 7 million USD, down 7.4% compared to November 2022. In the first 11 months of the year, exports of rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpets to Japan earned more than 66.2 million USD, down 10.6% compared to the same period in 2022, accounting for 10.02%.
India is Vietnam's third largest market in this sector, earning nearly 34 million USD in the first 11 months of the year, down 1.4% compared to the same period in 2022, accounting for 5.25%. Last month, Spain took this position from the UK.
Not only that, many markets are actively importing this item from Vietnam with a sudden growth in November such as Poland (138%), Denmark (200%), France (101%)... Most of them come from the European region, which shows that environmentally friendly materials, beautiful and versatile designs help Vietnamese rattan, bamboo and sedge products to be favored by many demanding countries.
