The 13th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival is held to continue promoting cultural exchanges between EU countries and Vietnam. The European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival is organized by the European Union of Cultural Institutes and Embassies (EUNIC) in collaboration with the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio.

This year's film festival brings together 19 outstanding documentary films, including 7 international films from Austria, Belgium (Wallonia - Brussels), Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Finland and 12 Vietnamese films. Of these, 9 are from the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio and 3 are from independent authors.
The films are screened for free at the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio (465 Hoang Hoa Tham, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi ) including: My Enemy, My Friend (Vietnamese film, directed by Pham Hong Thang, Duong Van Huy); Above the Clouds (Vietnamese film, directed by Dao Duy Tu, Le Anh Tuan); Crime Behind the Trust (Vietnamese film, directed by Hoang Dung, Tran Xuan Chung); The Girl Named Tania (Belgian film, directed by Mary Jimenez, Bénédicte Liénard); The Steadfast Ones (German film, directed by Jtorsten Korner)...
Coming to the 13th European - Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival this year, cinema lovers will enjoy outstanding documentary films, many of which have won awards at international and Vietnamese film festivals. The themes of the films are diverse, focusing on topics such as climate change, women's liberation, protecting and living in peace with nature, and the risks of the digital age...
Through films, audiences have the opportunity to learn about the culture, people, and society of Vietnam as well as other countries.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Chairman of the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio, said that every afternoon, the audience will enjoy a Vietnamese documentary and a foreign documentary. The festival will also introduce documentaries by independent Vietnamese authors.
"Each film participating in this year's film festival has its own message, but in general, audiences who love documentary cinema will have the opportunity to discover more about the country, people and different cultures," Mr. Tuan shared.
The 13th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival takes place simultaneously from September 22 to 28 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
