220 million VND/night to experience the presidential suite in the tallest building in Vietnam

After a considerable wait, we finally had the chance to set foot in the presidential suite of the Vinpearl Landmark 81, Autograph Collection – one of the tallest hotels in Vietnam today. "Last week, a businessman booked a room for one night, but then decided to stay for the whole week because he loved it so much," shared Ms. Tran Thi My Dung, Director of Sales and Marketing at Vinpearl Landmark 81, Autograph Collection, explaining the reason for rescheduling our appointment.

The identity of this special guest is kept confidential to ensure privacy, but with a price tag of 220 million VND per night, the story of a businessman spending over 1.5 billion VND to stay there simply because he "loved it so much" partly paints a picture of the elite guests of this presidential suite: those seeking the most luxurious and exclusive experiences that are not easily found elsewhere.

The room in question occupies the entire 68th floor of Landmark 81 (Ho Chi Minh City) – the tallest building in Vietnam and the second tallest in Southeast Asia. The elevator moves quite quickly and smoothly. Only when our ears started to ring from adjusting to the height in such a short time did we realize we were "among the clouds." According to reports, this elevator travels at a speed of up to 8 meters per second and is currently the fastest elevator system in Vietnam. Thanks to this speed, visitors only need less than a minute to travel from the ground floor to the top floor. The elevator's speed here is estimated to be one-third the speed of Sarah the cheetah – the animal known as the fastest in the world .

As soon as the elevator stopped on the 68th floor, the city skyline unfolded before my eyes, all sides of the room being made of transparent glass. This was also the room with the best view in the hotel, offering the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

The first distinguishing feature of this room compared to typical hotel rooms is its high ceiling, surrounded by tempered glass that allows guests to admire the entire city from any position in the room.

A long hallway led us into a spacious living room, highlighted by an expensive, long, leather-upholstered sofa. A glass coffee table reflected the light, and high-end armchairs surrounded it, creating a luxurious reception area.

Immediately behind the sofa is the bar and kitchen area. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, ready to serve individual cooking needs or host elegant parties. And, just like a presidential suite in any hotel, guests have the privilege of requesting a butler or bartender to serve them 24/7 upon request. Additionally, a discreet private entrance is provided next to the kitchen so staff can access the room without disturbing the guest's privacy.

Adjacent to the living room and bar area is a large, minimalist yet elegant workspace. In front is a spacious balcony offering expansive views of the city below. The natural light streaming in from the balcony is complemented by soft, warm lighting, creating a comfortable working environment.

The master bedroom is designed with a large double bed, a balcony to the left, and panoramic city views through transparent glass to the right and in front. This is an ideal location to watch both sunrise and sunset from above.

Although the entire room is covered with tempered glass, allowing natural light to flood in, the temperature inside is always kept cool thanks to an easy-to-use touchscreen control system.

According to Dan Tri reporters' investigation, the butlers here are professionally trained with service skills according to international standards to fully meet the requirements of VIP customers, from preparing meals to arranging resting spaces for guests.

The bathroom boasts a spacious and airy feel, with a large mirror reflecting the vibrant city skyline. This area includes a walk-in shower and a marble bathtub with multiple relaxing massage modes. Transparent mirrors surround the bathroom, allowing guests to enjoy the view while soaking. This is considered a "worthwhile" experience. A hotel representative stated that, due to its location high within Vietnam's tallest building, guests don't need to worry about privacy when using this "transparent bathroom."

The dressing area is designed as a separate room, equipped with numerous wardrobes, drawers, shelves, and a safe to meet all storage needs. This space is also furnished with modern amenities, creating a convenient and comfortable dressing corner.

According to current listed prices, a night's stay in this presidential suite costs approximately 220 million VND. Despite the high price, the hotel revealed that the suite maintains an average occupancy rate of 15-20 days per month.

Most guests book rooms here for relaxation and to host important events with family and friends. Others utilize the luxurious space of the presidential suite to showcase products, entertain partners, discuss business, and finalize deals. Ms. Tran Thi My Dung shared: "With its flexible space, we often host parties for VIP guests with a capacity of up to 50 people. The living area is designed to be adaptable to the needs of each customer, ensuring the most personalized and upscale experience."

Compared to other long-established, historically significant hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, Vinpearl Landmark 81 Autograph Collection is still a relatively young name, having only been in operation for just over 5 years. From the 47th floor upwards, the Landmark 81 building houses 223 guest rooms and suites. The main selling point is that all room types offer stunning views, allowing guests to admire the panoramic cityscape from above, from the winding Saigon River to the lush greenery of the park below, blending seamlessly with the vibrant atmosphere of the "city that never sleeps."

According to the hotel's media representative, it is the hotel's unique location that has made it stand out, attracting guests and winning major awards in the tourism industry.

In 2019, less than a year after its opening, Vinpearl Landmark 81 surpassed hundreds of hotels worldwide to win the title of "World's Leading Riverfront Hotel" at the World Travel Awards – a prestigious tourism award dubbed the "Oscar of the international tourism industry". Prior to that, within the Asia & Oceania region of the same awards, the hotel also won three awards: Asia's leading riverfront hotel, Vietnam's leading city hotel, and Vietnam's leading hotel suite. This year, the hotel continued its winning streak by receiving the Vietnam's Leading City Hotel 2024 award from the World Travel Awards. The Presidential Suite – the hotel's most luxurious room category – also proudly received the Leading Hotel Suite award from the same organization.
