DNVN - On September 11th in Melbourne, the tourism sectors of Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam provinces jointly introduced the tourism brand "Amazing Central Vietnam Heritage" to Australia.
According to the Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, Truong Thi Hong Hanh, the program aims to contribute to promoting tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Australia, especially connecting the Australian tourist market with Central Vietnam. It also aims to strengthen communication, promotion, and introduction of the "Amazing Central Vietnam Heritage" tourism brand to Australia.

Speaking to 27 tourism businesses from three localities and nearly 100 delegates representing tourism businesses and media agencies in Australia attending the event, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh emphasized that with increasingly convenient connections from direct flights between Australia and Vietnam, Central Vietnam is expected to become a favorite destination for Australian tourists seeking sustainable ecotourism, beach resorts, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and golf.
At the event, the tourism sectors of the three localities collaborated to organize various activities to promote and develop tourism, including a business networking space, screening of films promoting tourism in Central Vietnam, providing information on direct flights connecting Australia and Vietnam, showcasing tourism products and services, and organizing a seminar on increasing tourist exchange between Australia and Central Vietnam.
Many Australian partners appreciate that, in addition to possessing numerous world cultural, historical, and natural heritage sites, the Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam region also boasts a clean and green environment, security, world-class entertainment areas, and a system of 7 golf courses designed by legendary world golfers. Especially noteworthy are the warm smiles, genuine affection, and friendliness of the people, as well as the diverse and delicious traditional local dishes and fresh seafood.
Following the event in Melbourne, the tourism sectors of the three localities will continue to organize the "Heritage Journey" program at the Da Nang City Investment and Tourism Promotion Conference in Sydney. Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Mai, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia, stated that the program introducing tourism in Central Vietnam is one of the practical activities in implementing the Government's agreement on upgrading bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership (CSP).
According to information presented at the program, Australia is currently among the top 10 international tourist markets for Central Vietnam. In the first seven months of 2024, the total number of Australian tourists staying in Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam reached approximately 165,000, accounting for nearly 59% of the total number of Australian tourists in Vietnam.
"Compared to 2019, the peak period for international tourism, the total number of Australian tourists to Central Vietnam in the first seven months of 2024 increased by nearly 120%. This shows the capacity for tourism economic recovery and forecasts the attractiveness and growth of Australian tourists at Central Vietnam," said Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Director of the Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism.
