In June 2024, the National Economics University announced its orientation for regular university admissions in 2025. The school said that the basic admission methods will remain stable as in 2024, but the quota will be adjusted.
Accordingly, the school considers admission based on high school graduation exam scores, accounting for about 15%.
Thus, the quota for the high school graduation method has decreased by 3% compared to 2024. This quota will be transferred to the combined method. In 5 years, the National Economics University has reduced the quota for considering graduation scores from 70% to 15%.

With the method of considering high school graduation scores, the school announced to use 4 admission combinations including A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English), D01 (Math, Literature, English), D07 (Math, Chemistry, English); there is no difference in scores between the combinations, no additional criteria, all subjects are calculated with a coefficient of 1 when considering admission.
The reduced quota transferred to combined admission is 83%, the remaining 2% is directly recruited by the school according to regulations.
With the combined admission method, candidates need to have an SAT score of 1,200 or higher or an ACT score of 26 or higher; or an HSA score of 85 or higher, an APT score of 700 or higher, a TSA score of 60 or higher; IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 46 or higher...
Hanoi University of Science and Technology recently also informed that in 2025, this university will maintain the three admission methods that have been implemented in the past: talent selection, thinking assessment test results organized by this university, and high school graduation exam results.
The school plans to reduce the quota based on graduation exam scores from 50% to 40% in 2025, and increase the quota for the remaining methods.
Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duy Hai, Head of Admissions and Career Guidance Department - Hanoi University of Science and Technology shared that the school is in the process of preparing for the official information about the 2025 exam organization plan but still in the spirit of maintaining exam stability.
In December 2023, Nha Trang University ( Khanh Hoa ) announced that it will not use high school graduation exam scores for admission in 2025.
Accordingly, in 2025, the school will enroll students based on academic records combined with scores from a number of competency assessment exams, without considering graduation exam scores.
The school will take students' scores in certain subjects during the three years of high school, depending on the training program and must meet the minimum requirements announced by the school every year.
With the competency assessment test scores, the school focuses on Math (Math, logical reasoning and data processing); Language (Vietnamese and English) and Science (problem solving). For the Science section, candidates can choose the scope corresponding to the subjects they studied in high school and suitable for the training industry and major according to the school's regulations.
The scoring formula and admission quota will be announced specifically by the school later.
