4/4 students won medals, Vietnam ranked Top 8 at the 2025 International Olympiad in Informatics

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnamese national team participated in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2025 in the capital city of Sucre, Bolivia. All four participating students won medals, putting Vietnam in the Top 8 countries with the highest achievements.

The Vietnamese national team had 04 students competing and all 04/04 students excellently won medals. Specifically, Le Kien Thanh, grade 12 student, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai province: Gold medal; Dang Huy Hau, grade 10 student, Thang Long High School for the Gifted, Lam Dong province: Silver medal; Nguyen Bui Duc Dung, grade 11 student, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences , University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi: Silver medal; Ninh Quang Thang, grade 12 student, Ha Long High School for the Gifted, Quang Ninh province: Bronze medal.

With 100% of contestants winning medals, the Vietnam National IOI Team is among the top 8 countries and territories with the highest results in the Medal Ranking, after China, Korea, Romania, Singapore, Bulgaria, Hungary and Japan.

The 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2025) will be held in person from July 27 to August 3, 2025 in the capital city of Sucre, Bolivia, with the official participation of 330 contestants from 86 countries and territories; Russia and Belarus will participate under the Olympic flag.
