Speaking to the press, Colonel, Dr. Saveng Dennamonh, Political Commissar of the Lao People's Army Ethnic Minority Boarding School, affirmed that to fully understand the strength and depth of the Vietnam-Laos relationship, one must return to its historical roots. From the very beginning of the Indochinese Communist Party, under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh , the Lao and Vietnamese revolutions were closely intertwined, walking hand in hand on the path of national liberation.

Over six decades have passed, and the two nations have shared joys and sorrows, fought side by side in the same trenches, and overcome countless sacrifices and hardships. President Ho Chi Minh's teaching, "Helping a friend is helping oneself," has become a guiding principle and a source of spiritual strength, motivating the armies and people of both countries to fight shoulder to shoulder and defeat their common enemy. It is in the midst of fierce fighting that this unwavering and fraternal solidarity has been tested, tempered, and strengthened even further.
Colonel Saveng Dennamonh emphasized the spirit of solidarity and unwavering friendship between Vietnam and Laos, forged through the flames of resistance, becoming the core foundation for long-term, stable, and sustainable cooperation. The special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos is not only an objective law but also a decisive factor in the victory of the revolutions of both countries, building a solid foundation for this relationship to remain ever-lasting and enduring for generations to come.
On the Indochina Peninsula, Vietnam and Laos are two countries with shared mountains and rivers, nestled against the majestic Truong Son mountain range, and sharing the waters of the Mekong River. Over 2,000 km of border has witnessed a close neighborly relationship, characterized by close ties like "villages next to each other," "sharing what they have," and "drinking from the same stream and eating from the same bunch of bananas." The people of both countries share many similarities in culture, customs, beliefs, and language, enough to foster deep understanding and empathy.
According to Colonel Saveng Dennamonh, the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States, and peoples of the two countries did not form by chance, but is an inevitable objective law of history. This is the decisive factor in all the victories of the revolution in each country.
That solidarity, built on the foundation of genuine patriotism combined with pure proletarian internationalism, became a tremendous source of strength leading both nations to victory. Despite the complex and volatile global situation, the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos remains ever stronger, a shared mission of the two Parties, two States, two Armies, and the people of both countries, and must be continuously preserved and nurtured for a long-term future.

The next generation follows in the footsteps of the previous one.
Colonel Saveng Dennamonh quoted the late General Secretary Le Duan as saying about the fighting alliance between the two countries: "No one can count how many mountains, how many rivers our brave soldiers have crossed; and no one can measure the depth of the feelings between our two countries."
Through this, Colonel Saveng Dennamonh pointed out that from the generation of their forefathers to the generation of their descendants today, the people of Vietnam and Laos have continued to walk hand in hand, sacrificing sweat and blood to gain freedom and independence. Millions of tons of American bombs and ammunition were dropped on the mountains, forests, and fields of Vietnam and Laos, but they could not sever the pure and loyal feelings of the two nations. Every inch of land, every tree in the majestic Truong Son Mountains bears the mark of a brotherhood and comradeship rarely seen in the world.
Entering a period of peace and national development, comprehensive cooperation continues to be strengthened. A clear example is the Lao Army's Ethnic Culture Boarding School, an educational institution built entirely with non-refundable aid from the Vietnam People's Army. This is where the children of officers and soldiers are trained and nurtured, aiming to prepare a new generation of officers for the Lao People's Army.
Since its establishment in 2022, the school has had the honor of welcoming numerous high-ranking delegations from the Vietnamese Army who have visited and donated essential equipment for research, teaching, and learning. This is a vivid manifestation of the close friendship, not just in words, but realized through practical actions, contributing to the training of future talents for Laos.
Colonel Saveng Dennamonh concluded that 63 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos is a vivid testament to an exemplary, loyal, and pure relationship, a priceless asset that both nations have a responsibility to preserve and promote. Regardless of the circumstances, the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, and Laos and Vietnam, will forever remain a solid foundation for the sustainable development of both countries and a shining example of international solidarity in today's era.
