80 teams participate in off-road car racing in Dak Lak

The first off-road car race to be held in Dak Lak next August will have 80 racing teams participating, including many foreign racers.

Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related units have just coordinated to organize a press conference to inform about some contents of the upcoming off-road car racing tournament held in the area.

Mr. Lai Duc Dai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak, said that this off-road car race has the theme "Challenge of the Great Forest - Buon Don 2023", taking place from August 12 to 17 in two communes of Krong Na and Ea Huar (Buon Don District, Dak Lak).

According to Mr. Dai, this is the first time an off-road car race has been held in Dak Lak. Based on the results of the race, the department will have statistical reports and recommendations to the competent authorities to develop it into an annual race and become a sport activity of Dak Lak province.

On the occasion of the racing tournament, the organizers will incorporate many other programs and activities to stimulate tourism and promote the image and people of Dak Lak to domestic and international tourists.

"After the incident where a group of people attacked the headquarters of two communes in Cu Kuin district, there were many false and distorted rumors. Therefore, this racing tournament is also an opportunity to confirm that all activities in Dak Lak have returned to normal," Mr. Dai emphasized.

Mr. Phan Duc, General Director of Rubi Dai Ngan Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, head of the tournament organizing committee, said that the unit had about 6 to 8 months to research the terrain and chose Buon Don as the venue for the tournament. Because this place has complex terrain, enough to challenge the racers.

ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

According to Mr. Duc, this tournament gathers 80 racing teams, including many veteran off-road racers such as: Nguyen Thanh Hai, Nguyen Trong Toan, Vu Ngoc Cuong, and some racers from countries such as Korea, Malaysia... Funding for the tournament is mobilized from socialized sources. Regarding the prize structure, there will be many main and secondary prizes with a total value of about 1 billion VND.

It is known that the off-road car racing tournament in Buon Don District has been approved by the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee. The Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee also assigned the relevant departments and branches to coordinate and support the Buon Don District People's Committee in preparing plans to ensure security and order during the tournament.

Mr. Phan Trung Nghia, Chairman of Buon Don District People's Committee, said that the district has prepared plans to ensure security and order, ready for the off-road car race: "Hopefully, through this tournament, the locality will promote and attract more investment activities in tourism. At the same time, a fixed off-road car race track will be formed to organize the annual tournament, contributing to stimulating tourism in the district," Mr. Nghia expressed.
