The State Council of Professors for the 2024-2029 term has just held its 4th meeting. The meeting aims to discuss and vote on the results of the review of the professional and interdisciplinary professor councils and the list of qualified candidates to be recognized as meeting the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor.
This year's statistics show that 1,073 candidates (100 professors, 973 associate professors) submitted applications for recognition of meeting the standards for the titles of professor and associate professor at 117 basic professor councils.
After reviewing the application documents, evaluating foreign language proficiency, evaluating the overall scientific report and voting for confidence, 1,014 candidates (93 professor candidates, 921 associate professor candidates) were proposed to be considered for recognition of meeting the standards at 28 professional and interdisciplinary professor councils.
The professional and interdisciplinary professor councils have met to consider and recognize the standards for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025. As a result, 911 candidates (73 Professor candidates, 938 Associate Professor candidates) were proposed to the State Council of Professors for recognition.

After a day of impartial and objective work, the State Council of Professors publicly discussed each candidate's profile, elected a vote counting committee and voted on the list of candidates eligible to be considered for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor.
As a result, 900 candidates received the required number of votes of confidence, including 71 professor candidates and 829 associate professor candidates. The passing rate compared to the total number of candidates who submitted their initial applications to the basic professor councils up to this point is 83.88% (of which the passing rate of professor candidates is 71% and that of associate professor candidates is 85.2%).
According to the State Council of Professors, the quality of candidates in 2025 is basically quite good, foreign language proficiency has improved a lot, and candidates are guaranteed to have enough scientific research works published in international journals listed in ISI, Scopus or other prestigious journals.
